An outstanding Restoration period French silver wine taster in the 18th century style typical of Lyon. With the restoration of the Bourbon monarchy, many old styles from the ancien regime once again came into fashion, and this tastevin, building on decorative elements typical of the 1770's, is a perfect example. Tastevins with snake-form handles were particularly popular. Those with a pair of snake heads that somewhat resemble bird's heads flanking a sphere are typical of silver from Lyon...

A spectacular Chelsea porcelain covered porringer. This wonderful piece is profusely decorated, even on the inside of the bowl, with butterflies, moths, other insects, and flowers. A veritable rainbow of colors was used in the enameling. The finial on the lid is a naturalistically molded rose with hues of reds and pinks, and the handles are painted with a distinct bluish green...

The round funnel bowl tops a rare stem configuration of a double series air twist (DSAT) comprised of a pair of 7 ply spiral bands outside of a central pair of mercury corkscrews. The plain conical foot has a rough, snapped pontil. The glass is 6 1/2 inches tall, with a bowl diameter of 1 13/16 inches and a goodly foot diameter of 3 inches...

Fashion perfect for riding in a one horse open sleigh, this is an original Victorian black silk velvet cape, circa 1890's, featuring silk applique detailing along the front bodice creating a border around the entire cape. A frilly double ruffle black silk ribbon ruff collar is inset with handmade black lace. Silk ribbon attached around the collar creates a bow in front of the neck hook and eye closure. Black silk broadcloth lining...

A finely detailed cast bronze jewel box, the cover decorated with a scene of Don Quixote astride his horse followed by his loyal Sancho Panza on his donkey. The end panels feature bas relief images of Cervantes flanked by cherubs, and the back panel a bas relief of Don Quixote wearing an armored helmet. Cherubs and dolphins decorate the front. The interior is lined in a bright red velvet. The box retains its original key and the lock is in working order...

A very rare set of six sterling silver demitasse spoons in the "Holly & Mistletoe" pattern by Tiffany & Co. This is a more ornate variant of the company's more common "Holly" pattern. The handles are decorated on both sides with holly and mistletoe foliage and mistletoe berries. The elongated bowls have notched shoulders and are parcel-gilt. The spoons are fully hallmarked and have the date letter used 1873-91...

A fine and stately Dutch armorial wine goblet engraved with the arms of Hohenlohe. The thistle bowl of this glass shows two leopards passant within a crowned shield surrounded by fronds. A narrow band of engraving encircles the rim. The heavy bottom of the bowl has an enclosed tear, as does the huge inverted baluster knop below the bowl. The foot is domed and folded, with a rough snapped pontil...
