An antique Japanese Okidoko (low display stand) made of Keyaki (Zelkova) wood. Used in a Tokonoma as a portable display stand atop which decorations like scrolls were hung or flower arrangements were displayed. Drawers were used to store items for display and the interior shelves were used to display seasonal items. All original bronze hardware.

An antique Ming dynasty Chinese painting table made entirely Jumu wood. Upper surface has a floating panel with time honored wood shrinkage surrounded by a mitered corner frame. Antique Japanese multi tired chest with single double hinged central compartment. All sides are decorated with circular gold lacquered bamboo, camilas, peony scene interspersed with the gold Tokugawa Shogunate family crest. Condition is consistent with age and does show wear. Very sturdy and is 100% complete. Ready to be enjoyed for many more years to come.

This rope bedframe has warmth which only time and wear can give. It has head and foot boards with some extra touches such as spool posts and turned legs. It retains its bed rails making modernization a plausible option. This bedframe is a very nice example with extra details which the average bedframe of its era did not have. I conservatively date this bedframe to mid 19th century but it could be somewhat earlier, but if pushed I place date to c. 1840...

This attractively proportioned games table is a form famously produced in the Salem, Massachusetts area at the beginning of the 19th Century. The serpentine form with ovolo corners, coupled with richly carved foliate and reeded legs, is a motif used by those cabinetmakers and carvers associated with the successful workshop of Samuel Field McIntire (1757-1811). Federal Mahogany swell front chest of drawers. Yellow pine and poplar secondary woods. Maryland, probably Baltimore, 1790 to 1810. This chest is similar in ways to an example in "Furniture in Maryland, 1740-1940", Weidman, 1984, item #77, page 123. On both, the top conforms to the bow front case, projecting a bit beyond the case. And both have nicely formed French feet, inlaid banding on the drawers and above the skirt, and inlaid chevrons centering the escutcheons...

Exceptional George III Serpentine Chest of Drawers or Commode in the French Manner having a moulded edge serpentine top with overhanging sides above two over three conforming drawers, rounded front corners and bold bracket feet. The drawer sides and bottoms are mahogany which is unusual since it was the most expensive wood during the 18th Century. Brass pulls may be original, escutcheons replaced.

18th Century Chippendale Pennsylvania Walnut Highboy with a Scrolled Skirt, Fluted Quarter Columns, Cabriole Legs and Ball and Claw Feet

This is a wonderful 18th Century Chippendale walnut highboy, and was likely hand-crafted in Pennsylvania in or near Philadelphia circa 1750 - 1780. The squat proportions and massive strength of the architecture suggest a Philadelphia origin.
