A truly marvelous silver plate round box on enameled stand, in the form of a nesting dove, France hallmark, classic Art Deco form with the often depicted dove. Measures 8" wide, 6 1/4" high, and 6" deep. No marks other than the stamped France mark, artist unknown, but is certainly designed with a fine artistic eye. The bird has ruffled feathers around the neck, its feet grasping onto the base, with a short tail feather with step design...

A very fine and masssive Japanese Edo Period Satuma Vase, measuring 25.5” in height. Satsuma was done in the last quarter of the nineteenth century and after 1900, went out of production as Japan was moving towards modernization. This is an amazing fine decorated with decorations of vignettes of Japanese culture. Done circa 1910-1920 which is remarkable as few are know from this late production. Furthermore, with the original gold leaf pagoda style lid.

Xuantong 1909-1912, kaishu mark in regular script. Demonstrates clearly a feature that is often called hollow or fractured, line. The decoration of the piece, iron red bats among clouds is in a distinctly different style as compared to similarly decorated pieces of the previous reign...

The graphic impact of this blanket box with paint decoration is absolutely stunning. It is swirl decorated in black over a yellowish-putty color, and virtually all the paint is intact. Adding to the special nature of this piece is its dainty size, measuring 31 inches long by 15 1/4 inches deep by 13 1/2 inches tall. A fine antique walnut corner cabinet with beautiful warm patina - though I suspect that it has been refinished somewhere along the road. Wood shelves; dentil molding; wood pegs still present; brass hinges, and closing clasps added. Double doors top and bottom. I suspect that the feet have been cut somewhat. It has normal wear and tear of a piece of this age. The cabinet is at least 19th C, but may even be late 18th century...

FinePair of Italian Grand Tour Bronze Candlesticks with nicely detailed foliate decoration and with good patina and fine castings. Having a removable ormolu drip pan above a bronze candle cup and supported by a turned and foliate decorated column with a tripartite scrolling ormolu base and mounted on a tripartite bronze plinth. These would have been brought home as a souvenir by someone who had made the Grand Tour. Italy, circa 1870. Height: 11.25"
