This attractive tea caddy stands 4-1/4" high and the hinged lid lifts to reveal the twin compartments, whose lids have hand carved and decorated mother-of-pearl grips. The wells have a gray painted lining. It has conical decorated gilt brass feet and ornate hand painted polychrome and gold decoration on the lid, base and front panel...

An Empress Gloss papier mache advertising box circa 1890-1900. This German box has a fancy script "EMPRESS" GLOSS gold advertising decal on the lid. C. 1880 Hand carved Wood Box Engraved mother of pearl box measures just over 2 inches square. The top slides cleanly off the base to uncover beautiul mother of pearl "puzzle pieces", probably intended as a game whereby one must get the pieces back in the same order. A lovely Victorian box for the discerning box collector.
