Interesting pottery jar with handle and fine decoration in red on beige ground, Ancient Near East c. 2nd. millenium BC.

Condition: Very fine, with short crack and small chip nicely restored and not visible.

Bactrian bronze seal, Late 3rd - Early 2nd Millennium BC. Simple design on the round base, tall handle. Beautyful brown patina - attractive!. Interesting crude design of an animal.

Condition: Superb! Exceptional brown patina!

A very interesting, large and thick block-shaped seal in black serpentine, Mesopotamian, c. 3rd. mill. BC., could be a bit later (?)

Drill style carving in high relief, very precise and still difficult to sort out, probably an animal but we're not certain. Also see mr. Oberlánders drawing of this motif.

Size: 28 mm. in length and 21 mm. wide, 13 mm. thick.

Condition: VF, some wear smaller losses, basically intact...

An interesting and rare stamp seal of a triangular form with a carved base and loop, Mesopotamia, c. 2nd. millenium BC.

The seal is particularly finely engraved with a horned animal and some interesting 'glyphs' in a freese above. With Egyptian inspiration and probably from the Middle Assyrian period, made close to the Egypt border.

Size: 14 x 11 mm.

This is a finely engraved haematite cylinder seal. The seal is engraved with the sun-god Shamash, his foot resting on a small mountain, carrying the saw-weapon in his right hand, a worshipper approaches, wearing a fringed rope.
A suppliant goddess stands behind the sun-god Shamash, wearing a flounced robe, her hands raised in adoration.
Between them a ball-staff and vessel. Space for column of inscription...

A fine Grecco -Persian bronze spearhead, later 1st mill BC.

The blade with slim shoulders and central midrib. The sharp edges of the blade slope into a long, folded conical socket with an opening at the back and a straight.

Size: 34,5 cm - socket is about 18 cm.

Condition: Choice - cleaned somewhat hard, but still with nice red and green patina, as shown on photos.

Hand-modeled stand with antithetically arranged bull heads on top. Pinched muzzles and dewlaps, the eyes pierced. Horns chipped.

A massive ancient Near East bronze lance, ca. 1500-1000 BC.

Caspian Sea area, likely Turkmenistan. The largest bronze lance we've had for 20 years with it's 55 cm.

The lance with a very long folded and hammered socket, still with original content inside. Blade with a raised midsection.

A highly interesting piece for it's size alone, very impressive in hand.

Condition: Very nice, intact with minor losses to the blade, as seen in the pictures...

Interesting rectangular seal engraved on all 4 sides with human figures and stars, central drilling, North-West Mesopotamia, c. 4th.-3rd. mill. BC.

This exquisite ancient artifact is a bronze sword from the North-Western Asiatic "Amlash" region, which dates back to the 10th-8th century B.C. A really nice and detailed core style cylinder seal, of the Neo-Assyrian Empire, 9th.-7th. cent BC.

The seal depicts the king in a running 'Persian' stance, spearing an Ibex with a short spear or arrow, while holding a sicle-sword in the other hand. A quiver on his back and the star symbol of the Sungod over the Three Of Life.

Size: 21 mm. tall and 8-9 mm. wide.

Condition: About Extremely fine.

Interesting Bifacial stone stamp seal, East-Anatolian, probably in the time of Uruk, 4th.-3rd. mill. BC.

Deep carving in an attractive dark green stone with a palmtree or a palm-leaf engraving one one side and a human and a snake(?) on the other side. Early depiction of a human figure, in the nice drillstyle.

Size: 23 mm. wide over the base and 21 mm. tall.

Condition: Near VF, chip to the edge of one of the seal bases.

A very nice pottery bowl with torquoise glaze, black markings and a finely decorated pattern on the interior. Seljug period, 11th.-12th. century.

The bowl with fine silvery iridescence on the surface of the exterior. Very beautiful colours.

Size: 14 cm. in diameter. - c. 5,5 inches.

Condition: Choice w. spots of missing glaze and usual markings from the making. A possible hairline repair on the exterior and slight repaint.

Interesting and rare massive cylinder seal and stamp in one, Eastern Anatolia / West-mesopotmian pre-dynastic, c. 4th. mill. BC.

The seal finely engraved with a bulls-eye pattern and a deep relief star in the base. Topdrilled with loss to the small loop.

Size: 22 mm. thick and 30 mm. tall.

Condition: Very fine or about so, loss to loop and some wear, with much cleanable earthern deposits.

Interesting and massive stamp seal in fossilized shell or the like, and carved with a large capride with long horns on the base. Hemispheric shape and drill-carving of the later Uruk period, c. 3300-2800 BC.

Very attractive and impressive in the rough shell material, quite dense and heavy.

Size: 40 mm. in diameter and 17 mm. tall.

Condition: Near Very Fine, nice and intact for the material with typical corrosion and deposits.

A lovely condition pottery bowl with caligraphy, Islamic Samenid Dynasty, ca. 9th.-10th. century.

Interestingly this bowl has much original glaze with limited areas of restoring. Decorated with wonderful original caligraphy in black on white glaze.
