A lovely early ceramic Jug, first half of the 14th century, Made in Siegburg, Lower Rhineland, Germany, German, Proto-stoneware, unglazed.

Attractive jug with a small old chip at the rim, othervise extremely fine for the type.

A set of very finely carved wooden panels with extremely high relief portraits of a man and woman, Mid-European, probably Flemish / Dutch, dating to the 16th. century AD.

Interesting well-defined portraits of an upperclass couple, perhaps a wealthy trader or banker and his wife, both clad in high fashion of the 16th. century. The panels are carved with beautiful floral decoration.

The pewter fitting, once gilded with remnants of gilt in the details. Such a fitting would have been hammered onto wood work in the period, prbably military related, navy or army.

The underside of this scarab is inscribed with a cartouche holding the name Menkheperre, the prenomen of pharaoh Thutmose III (Dynasty 18, ca. 1479-1425 B.C.) He was venerated after his death and the name of this great ruler continued to appear on stamp seals long after his reign, even into the Late Period (ca. 664-525 B.C.).
