A beautifully executed thickbutted Danish Neolithic Axe from late 4th / early 3rd mill. BC.

During this period the thickbutted axe became a widely spread supplement to the thinbutted axe in the toolbox of Neolithic Man.

This specimen is very beautifully executed with no polishing. What you get is what a skilled flintsmith could achieve by hitting and knapping a block of flint. Clear, 'seamed' edges and a well-balanced symmetrical axe head.

Of a rare variant of the gable shape, with two holes in the upper back for mounting it. Made in hard black serpentine stone.

On the seal plate an exiting engraving, very artful, with two confronting monkeys and a symbol between them.

A fine large cylinder seal of the early Jemdet Nasr barrel shaped design, Mesopotamia, 3300-2900 BC. The seal is carved in a hard and dense material either a marple type or perhaps shell (?).

Seal very large for the period and craved with a fine grit-pattern and concenthric lines at each end. A string-carved round line at one side would have been made in antiquity.

Large stamp seal in a fine greyish green stone, probably Chlorite, Anatolia / Northern Syria Ubaid period, c. 4th. millenium BC.

The base of the seal is engraved with a fine symethric arrangement, probably showing antlers or something floral. A nice Gable seal type with perfect symethri and sharp lines.

This barrel-shaped ‘Fustat bead’ is made of six sections of spiral mosaic cane laid next to each other longitudinally in alternating directions, creating a zigzag effect. A nice lot of 4 small refined celts made from silex as imitations of bronze celts in the bronzeage period. The set dates to ca. 1400 BC or so and the type are rather scarce since they are made late up in the bronzeage!

Nicely patinated and polished pieces that is a must for collectors of Neolithic silex.

This is an exquisite piece of history - an arrowhead that was used by the skilled Achaean archers in Ancient Greece. It is made of durable bronze and has a unique V-shaped tanged design known as type VIIIb. A nicely executed thinbutted Danish Neolithic silex axe, dating to mid-late 4th mill. BC.

Unpolished axe with nice proprotions and clear 'seams' along the edges. Very nice workmanship.

Thinbutted axes were developed to help neolithic people to clear the forest to prepare the land for farming. The largest specimens - up to 40 cm - were put down in marches as offers.

Size is 20 cm, so a larger specimen - c. 7,8 inches.
