A fine cylinder seal carved in an attractive beige-orange stone, probably jasper or coral, Mesopotamia under the Achaemenid Empire, c. 7th.-5th. century BC.

High relief provincial depiction of the Great King wrestling with stags.

Size: c. 23-24 mm. tall.

Condition: Nice VF or better, the seal dirty and will improve when cleaned.

Ex. Danish Private Collection, this seal aquired in the early 1990s.

The cylinder seal is carved in fine white-beige stone, and can be dated to Mesopotamia, Late Jemdet Nasr period, c. 3000-2900 BC. (Collon, period 1B).

The impressive seal is carved with 4 horned animals in very deep relief all the way around the thick cylinder.

Size: 30 mm. tall and 24 mm. wide.

Condition: Very fine, intact with some wear and corrosion and quite attractive.

A very attractive pottery bowl, in a very original state for type with caligraphy, Islamic Samenid Dynasty, ca. 9th.-10th. century.

A larger rounded bowl, decorated with wonderful caligraphy in black on cream glaze.

Size: 23 cm. wide and 8 cm. tall.

Condition: Extremely fine for type. Original crackled glaze with much patina...

A wonderfully patinated chisel, large and near mint condition, Danish Neolithic period 3rd. millenium BC.

Though some chisels are made as late as Daggertime just before the bronzeage, this unpolished attractive chisel was likely made during the Singlegrave period, 2800-2400 BC.

Size: 168 mm. (16,8 cm.)

Condition: Vertially mint with a sharp bit / edge. Very nice brown-orange patina.

A heavy axe with a large oval socket with 4 ridges and a broadening blade. Peculiar for this culture is the large pronounced ridge on top on the blade near the socket

Condition: Superb. Fine green-red patina with uncleaned sandy pockets.

BIBLICAL POTTERY VASE

This type known by the chocolate on white ware with remains of brown paint pigments...

This is a great example of a bronze dagger axe or ge. These weapons are unique to the ancient cultures of China and were in use throughout the bronze age. Characteristics of this piece suggest it would date to the Wester Zhou period (ca 700 BC) or possibly even earlier. It is small, with only two perforations for lashing to a pole. It weighs 179 grams. It measures 16.2 cm in length and 8.15 cm in height. It is very heavy, solid and stable with no signs of repair or restoration...

A nice large slender type of Danish battle axe in grey stone, from the late battleaxe period, Neolithicum, ca. 2400-2000 BC.

A finely made battle axe with great lines and curves. Very elegant axe, slender blade and very flat design (see the side-view).

Size: 18 cm. long.

Condition: Choice! Intact with some even corrosion of the surface.

Entirely hand-modeled terracotta lion resting with crossed forepaws. The elongated body with vividly rendered mane, the tail runs between the legs to rest on the back.
The missing head reveals the buildup of the figure. Excellent modeling.
The collector’s label is covered by a second one referring to Fischer’s 1941 sale and reads B1404-234-pe ist).
The ink inscription is illegible and indicates, as with other pieces of the collector, where the figurine was found...

Terracotta grotesque head with typical pejorative traits of a slave.. The bearded man shows a high, furrowed brow, bulged eyebrows, and a thick, hooked nose. The thick lower lip is contoured by a moustache.
