Bow adornment of a fibula in the shape of a bird. The body flat and round with a raised tiny head. Wings and feathers are rendered as incised lines. The wings crossed over the short tail.

Lovely bronze battle axe, Ancient Near East, early 2nd. millenium BC.

Finely made battle axe with a long enforced and narrow blade with a ridge at the top and an elaborately made socket in a zoomorphic shape with a broad decorated backplate.

Size: 114 mm. long and 67 mm. tall.

Condition: Very fine, intact with a rough uncleaned encrusted green patina over beautiful brown and red surfaces. Can be cleaned.

An ancient Egyptian amulet of Shu, god of air and sunshine, c. 1250 BC, from the famous Mitry collection (see our Homepage). It is 1 5/16” tall (30 mm) and made of faience. Shu looks to his left and appears to have a side-knot (of hair) hanging down from the right side of his head. The side-knot is usually a sign that it's a prince, although some queens also wore one – for instance, Rameses II's queen Istnofret is depicted with one (Hans Schneider notes), as is her son, Crown Prince Khaemwas...

More massive in construction than the typical 2nd.-1st. millenium BC mace heads with the solid socket being 4,5 cm. wide. Assyrian design, where the balance is at the very top of the mace head, which is ending in a wide hexagonal star of flat, sturdy projections. A lovely ancient Egyptian Scarab, c. 1070 or older, from the famous Mitry collection (see our Homepage). It is 9/16” long (14 mm) and made of faience. Scarabs empowered life and resurrection and were often placed under mummy wrappings to protect the body and to help it resurrect. Pictured on the bottom are images of vulture goddess Mut, and an Ankh. This Scarab comes in a jewelry display cup.

Campanian kylix with four palmettes linked by incised arcs to form a ‘palmette cross’. Thin-walled cup with shallow bowl and gently rounded floor.
Finely impressed palmettes. The linking arcs impressed with a twisted wire.
Former collector’s numeration (95) inside the carefully modeled ring foot. Dark points around the foot indicate that the cup was hold with four fingers when dipped into the black glaze.

A very interesting and rare early amulet seal, carved with archaic patterns and drill tecnique of the 6th.-5th. millenium BC, Mesopotamia.

The amulet in dark green stone is very rare and shaped almost like an insict carved on each broadside with 6 globules within a gritpattern and a typical Halaf gritpattern on the small side. Loop probably lost to wear in antiquity so a new hole was made drilling one globule through.
