A nice group of Ming miniature glazed food tomb items for taking into the next world. During the Shang Dynasty all the actual pieces were used and have been replaced with pottery figures from the original size to this size. Sizes: See photos. Condition: Very good.

An original natural pigment pottery figure of a standing court lady wearing a short-sleeved tunic over a robe with long sleeves. Her interesting looped hairdo is parted into two bunches that rest atop the sides of her head. The figure has most of the original pigments, some of which have worn off over the years.Very difficult to find one that has not been restored. Period: Tang (618 - 907 AD) Size: Height = 22.5 cm, Width at base = 7.5 cm. Condition: All original. No repairs.

A Ming statue of Quanyin glazed in cream, green and ochre glazes (san-ts'ai). The Guanyin is seated on a rock formation with lotus flowers above a rectangular pedestal. Formerly she was flanked by two disciples - there is one remaining but missing and the other is missing its head and hands...

An authentic large Tang tomb Attendant wearing a typical attendant's outfit with remains of the original pigments. Large pottery items were made in three parts, the head, upper body and lower body.This item was excavated from a tomb in 1998 with many other items. See last photo. Age: Tang Dynasty 618 - 907 AD. A very rare nicely moulded vase with a long ribbed neck that flares to a hexafoil rim. The hexagonal body is moulded with bands of flowers. The lower band has alternating patterns of lotus flowers and lotus leaves. There are two lion masks at opposite sides at the shoulder. The vase is covered in a light olive-grey glaze. Period: Yuan - 13th/14th Century Size: Height = 14.4 cm (5-11/16 inches) Condition: Tiny barely noticeable chip at the rim of the mouth otherwise perfect.

Fine Tall Chinese Tang Dynasty Painted Pottery Horse & Rider with Oxford TL Test

This fine and elegant pottery model of a horse and rider was made during the Tang Dynasty (AD 618 - 906). It is made from a buff-coloured pottery that has been "cold painted" in various coloured pigments. The horse stands alert with its head turned a little to its left. The riders sits upright with his arms outstretched.

This is quite large example with a height of 38.5 cm (15 inches)...

Chinese painted pottery cocoon jar painted with swirling design with red, blue, and white pigments. The cocoon jar is sometimes called a "duck-egg jar", used as a wine vessel during Han Dynasty.

Museum quality ancient Han dynasty, 206 BC – 220 AD, lead green deep dish from Luoyang, Henan Province. Excellent patina with the original silvering left intact on the rim of the dish. The 3rd photo shows a spur mark left by one of the clay firing stilts used to prop the dish to prevent it from sticking to the kiln floor. We have not seen another advertised for sale anywhere, other than the common cold painted types...

Simple and refine elegance is what best describes this zisha yixing teapot of the 19th century, pure Chinese with little or no adornment, except a little calligraphy. Entirely crafted by hand with smooth walls inside and out, remarkably light weight for the size, yet it has perfect centered gravity. Handle and lid handle and spout are perfectly aligned. Signed Shaoshan (little Mountain) this is the artistic name for Shi Dabin, a late Ming dynasty yixing master...

Han Dynasty pottery vase. Authentic and of the period, 221 B.C. to 206 A.D. In the photos, you can see the firing supports that are still intact, as well as the oxidation of the lead glaze, with the silver bleeding through to the surface, all of which lend to its authenticity. It is worth noting that there are several incised bands around the circumference of the jar. Measures approximately 17” (43.2 cm)tall and 10” diameter at widest.
