A stoneware bottle with an very decorative Guan-like glaze. Although the shape of this rare piece is clearly a Song Dynasty shape reference images from a reputable Chinese porcelain site point to a dating to the Ming Chenghua period. Since there is a copyright to this reference images I cannot show them here. H : 10,8 cm. Condition : Chipped to the rim as you can see this on the images, further in perfect condition ( body not cracked ).

The rare shape of this bowl is so to say a forerunner of a shape which was common during the Yuan Dynasty. In his book "Chinese blue and white Porcelain" Duncan Macintosh calls the shape of such a bowl: a "bowl in traditional "shufu" shape."( page 18 ). Chinese Cizhou type small bowl, with a character "Yuan" on the inside bottom of the bowl. Yuan Dynasty. Condition: there are some glaze chips on the rim, no other flaw beside these. Diameter: 4-3/8".

This is a large bowl with deep sides rising from a short flared foot gradually for the first two-thirds, then steeply to a lightly indented vertical lip. The interior of the bowl is covered with glossy iron-rich black glaze with five lustrous russet-silvery glaze streaks, like a star, radiating from the base with the black glazed background...

A Chinese, qingbai glazed, bowl with incised decoration of boys amongst floral scrolls; Southern Song dynasty. The glaze is an attractive pale bluish-green colour. Diameter, 20 cm.
