A small, well patinated, Yixing stoneware teapot made in China circa 1700 to 1730 during either the Kangxi or Yongzheng reigns. There are no makers or owners seal marks. Condition - excellent. One minute base chip - no cracks and no resoration...

Excavated in Kalimantan, Borneo. The piece is small, like most of the Song Geyao items, the shape is like Song, the glaze is like Song, but the clay ( porcelaneous ) looks different, and so unfortunately I have to be confident, that it must be a 18th century piece. What is confusing, is, that the piece was excavated together with some broken, ordinary Song pieces, and that there have not been found any other Qing material at this lokation. The piece is very nice, and in a perfect condition...

Superb potted by Yixing artist Jiang Qinfen and signed 3 times ( 2 x to the inside of the lid and 1 x to the underside of the handle ) all the marks are visible on the enlargements. A Chinese Shiwan stoneware fanghu vase with a jun glaze, late Ming/early Qing dynasty. The hollow tube handles associate this type of vase with the arrow game pastime but this example, given the small diameters involved would be unsuitable. The glaze is a transmutation glaze and its colour is decided by the kiln conditions at the peak temperature.

Shiwan (Shekwan) ceramics are from southern China, Guangzhou, Guangdong Province.

A green glazed "celadon" ware vase with flattened pear-shaped body made in the Longquan kilns, Zhejiang province, circa 1450-1550, during the middle Ming dynasty. The shape is probably in imitation of ring handled bronze vessles of similar form which have been produced in China since the Yuan dynasty. There is moulded floral decoration to the body and a plantain leaf design around the neck...

One of the best ever seen Guandong ( South China ) Shiwan ware dishes. Seventeenth Century. Shiwan pieces like this do try to imitate the famous glazes of the Song Dynasty ( mostly the glazes of Jun or Jizhou pieces ). Diameter : 20,3 cm. Condition : Perfect.

Ming Dynasty, Ca. 1500s

This bowl is covered overall in an attractive bluish green celadon glaze except for the footring, which shows the buff-toned porcelaneous stoneware body. The glaze is somewhat unevenly applied to the exterior. The interior has a glaze bubble that popped in the firing. Acquired in the early 1980s from an antiques dealer in Alexandria, VA.

This Ge glazed dish is at least from the early Qing Dynasty but most probably the piece is older. Please compare the shape and the unglazed base of the piece with similar Ge glazed pieces from the early Ming and the Yuan Dynasty. Ming Dynasty Celadon charger with floral/leaf and apparent bird (Bird of Paradise) pattern in center. Overall in good condition. Per images, note crackled surface, several small pockmark chips and what appears to be a hairline in the glaze. Slight warpage. Diameter: 9 and half + inches.
