18th Century Chinese Yongzheng period Famille Rose Porcelain large deep Charger/Platter, between 1723-1736, 15 1/4" diameter, 2 1/4" high, with large Peony flowering branches in the center bordered by high and wide rim decorated with more Peony floral design, highlighted with gold. The decorations are done by raised low relief overglaze enamel and emphasize for the each design, strokes and colors with black fine lines. The condition is good, no damage or restoration.
This small silk jacket was made and worn by the child of a wealthy traditional Han Chinese family. The dark blue silk fabric is embroidered on the front and back with a floral arrangement. There are additional decorative elements of tassels and border trim. The jacket spans 15 inches across the chest.
The jacket is in very good condition with only a slightly visible stain on the front embroidery, which would be expected of a childs jacket of this age.
DESCRIPTION: A Chinese peach toggle (guajian) crafted from a flat piece of burl wood with large spreading leaves, representing longevity in Chinese iconography. Two holes on either side of the stem were used for threading a cord from which this toggle would have been suspended as a counterweight to some other object, such as a tobacco pouch. Pair of late Qing dynasty Guangxu period circular form lidded seal paste boxes, each decorated in two underglaze blue relief dragons chasing a flaming pearl on a white porcelain ground. A bride of the Yi Chinese Ethnic Minority in Yunnan Province, would have worn the "cock" hat for her wedding day. The hat is made using layers of cotton fabric with a stiffiner between the layers to maintain the shape. Using colorful cotton thread, hat was extravagantly hand embroidered. A few traditional silver ornaments including the bubble, flower and butterfly were added.
Now, it is the very lucky Yi girl who can use her great grandmother's bridal hat for her own wedding...

This pair of early 20th century Famille Verte plates are 1 inch deep and 8 ½ inches in diameter. They depict two ladies in a garden. One lady is dressed in green and is holding a fan; the other lady is in pink and is holding a round mirror. The outer rim is decorated with pink mums and a green brocade pattern. This is an authentic neolithic nephrite jade adze/chisel, measuring some 9" (22cm) in length and 1" (2.5cm) in width. A heavy, substantial piece, guaranteed ancient. The stone is a beautiful deep green with substantial dark inclusions. The tapered end shows apparent signs of use.

A Chinese round porcelain charger with robin's egg glaze, with slightly flared rim, the recessed foo with white underglaze and old stickers to show provenance. The robin's egg glaze technique requires low-firing and uses two different colors of mottled purple-blue and turquoise.
