A Chinese white porcelain snuff bottle, probably Dehua, known in the West as ‘Blanc de Chine’. The moulded body, each side decorated with a central roundel of flowers surrounded with a pair of bats and a Shou character. The stopper, missing its spoon, appears to be faded purple stained soapstone. The thin body is very translucent and inside there are traces of former contents.

This antique Mongolian belt evokes the image of Mongolian horseman galloping across the plains... The chain is heavily patinated from age and use. The deeply doomed central medallion retains the original stained dark finish and highlighted gold (unknown source) on the border and central decoration. This piece is heavy... the central medallion is 6+ inches across,3.5 inches wide, and 3+ inches deep.

A small bronze mirror of bulls eye form, 69mm in diameter 7.5mm in height with a rounded boss surrounded by a thin raised concentric ring to the centre with a raised edge and partial concave profile to the rim. Late 19th century Chinese jade seal carved out of a jade boulder. True nephrite jade with russet original skin of the boulder, pleasant natural matte finish to the stone. The bottom is carved with raised characters that can be translated as STUDIO OF GREAT ELEGANCE, traces of red seal paste in the grooves. Wonderful austere piece appropriate for scholar’s table. Late 19th century Chinese seal carved out of lapis lazuli . Beautifully designed in a shape of a mountain, deep blue on one side with white streaks on the other, golden flecks on the sides. A six sided Nyonya plate with a peach and ten Buddhist symbols for good luck with the Tonzhi (1862-1864)stamp and of the period. Nyonya wares are over-glaze polychrome enamelled porcelains made in Jingdezhen in the Kiangsi province of China for the Straits Chinese, or Babas, whose female counterparts are called Nyonyas, hence the term Nyonya ware. Antique Chinese porcelain bowl, of an oval form with ribbed sides and a famille rose color palette. The yellow sides are incised with various Chinese inscriptions in blue glaze while several key characters are glazed in red. The foot is tall and deeply recessed with a red seal of Daoguang (1821-1850). The bowl is placed within a dramatic metal display of a fleur de lys design, raising it on narcissus style legs.

This large Chinese scale has metal balance beams and shallow metal bowls. The scale fits into an ornately carved red and black lacquer wooden case which is slightly domed and has its original copper band closure. There is some wood chip loss around what was the hole for the string which allowed the case to be hung up for storage. Dating from the 1800's the braided cords which attach the shallow bowls to the metal balance beam appear to be replacement cords...

Very unusual late Qing Dynasty (1890s to 1911) Chinese scholar’s rock in a form of a natural mineral cluster wonderfully resembling a prickly pine tree. The stone is many-sided, providing different complete views. Beautiful object with extraordinary rich textured surface, fixed in newer fitted hardwood stand. I believe the mineral to be aragonite. Wonderful object for contemplation on scholar’s desk, beautiful patina. Height with stand 5 1/8 inches.

A very rare pair of ironwood chairs also know as Tieli mu. Ironwood has been used with huanghuali items since the Ming Dynasty. In all the years that I have been collecting Chinese furniture, this is the only pair of ironwood chairs I have come across. Ironwood is usually been confused with jichimu. A Chinese jade vase, carved as a lotus leaf with a flower in one corner and a ribbon tying the leaf and its coiled trailing stalk forming the base. The composition is very attractive, the body is quite thinly carved and the stone is of celadon hue. A high quality example of Qing lapidary arts, it measures 14 cm ( 5 1/2 inches) high. Antique Chinese pair of Large Shiwan ware goddess statues. These wares originated out of kilns in the Shiwanzhen subdistrict within the city of Foshan, going as far back as the Neolithic period. Each goddess mirrors the form of the other, holding a large vase above their heads, on a cloud pedestal with a small deer at their sides as a symbol of longevity. Each statue is pigmented with deep navy blue, robin's egg blue, beige, and white underglazes with some areas left bare.

An unusual Tang pottery of a standing dwarf wearing a robe and hat painted in original orange pigments. He has a stocky figure and a sweet countenance on his downward tilt head. He is full of character. Figures such as these are considered a symbol of good luck and are not easy to find.

Antique Chinese porcelain brush washer, with ocean landscape scenes of boats on the water, and inscription on the backside with red chop. The foot is slightly recessed with unusual red mark. The brush washer is of a round form with flattened base and a wide mouth with a very short lip.

Antique Chinese porcelain vase, of a stylized gourd shape, the neck fluted into a dramatic flared lip with foliate edges. Scenes of playing children in a famille rose glaze color palette and sculpted beast head "handles" at the vase's sides. The large lower portion of the vase body has an inscription with three red chops, tapering into a short flaring foot with slightly recessed base and red four character mark.

Chinese white glazed Blanc de Chin Double Gourd Vase with incised 4 Ruyi with 3 flower petals inside each Ruyi design, 19th century, 5 1/2" high, 2 1/8" diameter-bottom rim, 1/2" diameter-top rim, 4" wide-widest middle section of the vase, unglazed bottom and sand got stuck around bottom rim during firing and also large sand firing mark on the side of the vase about 1/2" long, all the dots and dark area is kiln imperfect markings.
