A fascinating Jar-shaped set of stacking food boxes known as a Jubako in multi-color dating from the early 20th century. Japanese Meiji Period lacquered comb. The base of the comb is lacquered in gold and brown lacquer with hawk and pine design. The comb has wonderful carved design of a hawk on each side with small gold inlays. Unsigned. Minor rubbing on side edges. The comb measures 3 3/8" long by 1 5/8" tall.
