This very well designed and carved wood (boxwood) netsuke is 1 ¾” high, 2” wide and 1 ½” thick. It depicts three pods of a Japanese lantern plant (some people call it a Chinese lantern). Two big lanterns and one small lantern are arranged along a stem with a curly leaf which has a few insect bites. It is dated late 18th century and it is not signed. It is in excellent condition.

This 18th century wood Iwabe shells netsuke is 2 inches long and 1 ¾ inches wide. It is not signed, slightly worn but in great condition.

This is a Late 18th Century, most likely Osaka School, excellently carved netsuke of a resting stag, head turned back, eyes inlaid in black horn, with a dapple cloth, and good hair work. Unsigned. It measures 2.05 inches (5.2cm) wide, and 0.83 inches (2.1cm) tall.

Beautiful antique miniature netsuke cannon form firearm made of bronze with hardwood handle and silver fittings. Nice patina. Small ring on bottom. Measures 2" long. Age: 19th century.

This a Kioto School Netsuke, carved in Late 18th century, that depicts a seated and laughing Hotei. His robe falling open to reveal a large belly. The robe with incised leave branches. Hotei's hand and feet unsually large. Large, faithful time-period chimney himotoshi. Wonderful two-tone patina. Netsuke measures 1.55 inches (3.9cm) wide, and 1.45 inches (3.7cm) tall. It has some age hairlines, common to netsuke this old, but, it is solid, and otherwise, in excellent condition.

A rare carved ivory Netsuke in the form of a Lion or Karashishi, made in Japan in the Edo / Tokugawa period (1600-1868), probably during the 18th Century. Condition: Excellent - age yellowing and cracks - no damages or losses and no restoration. 4cm (1.6inches)long; 3.6cm (1.3inches) high; 2.4cm (0.9inches) deep. 18th Century, Japanese Boxwood Netsuke: Recumbent Dog

18th Century, nicely hand-carved Boxwood Netsuke depicting a recumbent Dog that appears to be pleasantly resting. Very nice stylized touches characterizes this netsuke made during the EDO Period of Japan. Unsigned. A bit larger than most netsuke of this type, with large himotoshi, common of carvings made during the 18th century, and beginning of the 19th century....

This 18th century Japanese unsigned hardwood netsuke of a boy is 1 ½ inches tall, 1 ½ inches wide and 1 inch in depth. It depicts a boy trying to climb on a huge sack. It is in excellent condition.

Netsuke nicely carved to represent a man standing with a slightly mischievous expression and posture. Ivory, with a fine age patina. Japan, mid Edo Period. Height: 5.9 cm. Minute age cracks (absolutely no damage), slight erosion, otherwise very good condition.

Outstanding huge chimney himotoshi, common of netsuke from this period. Unsigned. Base measure 1.14 X 0.86 inches (2.8 X 2.1cm) Netsuke is 1.78 inches (4.5cm) tall. Netsuke is in excellent preserved condition.

This 18th century Japanese unsigned boxwood netsuke of FUKUROKUJU (in phallic shape) is 2 ¼ inches tall, 1 ½ inches wide and 1 ¼ inches in depth. It is in excellent condition.
