A beautiful pair of Japanese bowls by Koransha, “the company of the scented orchid”, c 1920 or earlier. Decoration in under-glaze blue of leaves, and berries and smaller leaves in over-glaze red and turquoise. Height "2¼/ 6 cm, diameter "4/ 10,5 cm. Condition: restored chip to foot-rim of one bowl, as seen on photos.

This is a rare, well-modeled and detailed 19th Century Japanese Arita Porcelain Elephant. It is based upon an outstanding 1680 Japanese Kakiemon model, which in turn, was derived from Chinese prototypes. This piece is enameled in red and cobalt with yellow accents. A spectacular and intricately detailed painted Japanese Satsuma Koro. The painted features display Buddhist monks surrounded by an encircling phoenix on either side, beautifully gilted and accented with flowers and four legs that sport foo dog faces. A large gold gilted foo dog adorns the lid and is one of the most unusual renditions that i have ever encountered, I have not seen another like it...

The inside rim with blue and white fret band and the bottom inside with a single flower within double blue line. A fine Japanese blue and white porcelain soba choko with decoration of prunus blossoms on branches rising above an active with breaking waves all over a comb pattern on double blue lines above the foot. A fret band decoration appears inside the foliate shaped rim and a flower head within double blue ring adorns the bottom inside...

This is a rare Meiji period Japanese tree bark cloisonné jar. It is cloisonné design over ceramic body which was made to look like tree bark. It is 7” tall and 5 ½” at its widest part. It has a flower, bird and butterfly design over its brown body. It is in great condition, a little color rubbed off of the rim and base.

This is a very old Japanese Imari Plate. The design is outstanding and the rim style is very rare. This is a piece for the collector that appreciates the finer imari pieces made at the Japanese kilns. The plate measures 9 3/4 inches across and is quite heavy. There is a signature or writing in underglaze blue that we can not make out. Condition is excellent with come minor wear.

Antique 19th century Meiji period Japanese Kutani porcelain incense burner Koro and cover, of compressed cylindrical body, with upright handles, resting on three feet, modeled in the form of stylised elephant heads. The front side decorated with delicately hand painted coloured enamel and gold, with a cartouche depicting the Japanese goddess of mercy, Kannon Bosatsu, amongst clouds flanked by cranes, the rear decorated with a cartouche enclosing birds in a flowering garden...

One with asymmetric floral decoration and gilt foliate rim and spurious Chenghua mark inside the foot. The other octagonal with dragon decoration in the cavetto surrounded by flowering karakusa enclosed within alternating red and blue panels and the verso with geometric patterns...

A splendid Japanese Hirado reticulated censer. The censer has a reticulated lid and body with shishi lions on the side and chrysanthemum foliate decoration on the neck with a square base. Body and base has blue and white flower and crackled pattern. 19th century. Size: Length: 3.8" Width: 3.8" Height: 6.9".

A beautiful antique Imari covered dish painted with purple, green and yellow spotted Chinese lions surrounded with peonies. The bottom section of the dish contains scrolling vine and geometric patterns. Age: 19th century. Size: Diameter: 9.75" Height: 5.8".

A pair of Japanese dishes or plates, Edo, probably 18th century. Over-glaze decoration in iron red, aubergine, black, green and gilt of scholars in a landscape of rocks and banana trees. In the centre Kirin, the mythical animal, in under-glaze blue. The back with auspicious symbols. Diameter "8½/ 21,5 cm (both plates). Condition: both dishes with some wear to the decoration, one with a chip to underside of rim (cf. pictures).

This is Japanese shallow bowl from the great porcelain factory, Fukagawa. It is beautifully decorated throughout with an intense boarder of hand painting and gold work on the scalloped edge. It is in excellent condition. The bowl measures 9 3/4 across and is 2 inches deep.
