Vibrant shades of red, blue, gold and green were used to paint this mid Edo period Ko-Imari kendi. 9.5" x 6.75", it is in excellent condition with no chips, hairlines or repairs.

An exquisite and exceptionally rare 19th century monochromatic transparent ruby red enamel over solid gold vase with the impressed seal of Namikawa Sosuke. Sosuke did very few transparent enamel vases; there is an example in the Khalili Collection done in purple on a silver body with silver mounts, it lacks the brilliance of this vase. Height: 7.5625"

9" 19th century Kakiemon plates, slightly rounded, with blue flower baskets over blue underglaze. There are blue sprays on the undersides, each bears a Fuku mark.

Meiji period, late 1800s

This shallow bowl-shaped dish is set on a high foot with the characteristic Nabeshima comb pattern encircling it. The interior is painted with a design of chrysanthemums in cobalt blue of clear, rich tone. The underside is painted in the same cobalt blue with four groupings of four coin designs often seen on dishes of this size and shape. It is covered overall in a fine clear glaze with only the footring exposing the refined porcelain paste...

This is a signed 8" Satusma vase in the form of a bucket. It is decorated quite nicely with hand painted landsacpes and birds.

Beautiful Japanese antique choba tansu (merchant's chest), made of keyaki (elm) with sugi (Japanese cedar) interior, beautiful heavy iron hardware, sliders on top, bottom with removable locking bar (bo) over two drawers, lower right side with safe box, interior of safe with two small drawers, all original deep red translucent lacquer finish, Mikuni area, late Edo Period (mid 19th century). Size: 33 1/2" high x 36 3/4" wide x18 1/2" deep.

Circa 1680, this is one of the earliest examples of a Kakiemon sake bottle, rectangular in shape, 10.625" in height. Decorated in iron-red, yellow, green, aubergine, and black enamel, the four sides portray pine, bamboo, plum blossoms and peonies among clouds, with sprays of stylized lotus and scrolling karasuka upon the shoulders.

A pair of Japanese lacquered iron abumi (stirrups) decorated in gold lacquer on a roiro ground with Ni-o, also known as Kongo Rikishi with delicate scrolling background, the interior in red lacquer. Edo period (probably 17th century). 11 1/8" high, 4 3/4" wide, 12" long.

Large Japanese antique processional temple cart, base made of keyaki (elm) wood with copper hardware, drum is also made of keyaki wood with a large brass rooster on top, wonderful condition (wheels roll!), lovely carving and lacquer detail, unusual and striking! Meiji/ Taisho Period (early 20th century). Size: 90" high x 69" long x 42 1/2" deep.

This is a fine 18th century 5.75 inch Nabeshima footed dish with blue underglaze, decorated with two enameled peaches and leaves. There are two old gold lacquer repairs to the rim.
