This is antique Indigo dye Stripe cotton sashiko boro noragi textile of the Meiji era(1868-1912). It is boro cotton and patchwork of very beautiful indigo dyeing. All this sashiko stitches are made by hand. I can enjoy it with the both sides. It is very rare textile. This an exquisite Satsuma tea jar from Ryozan. The gold work and painting are examples of his best workmanship. The piece is in excellent condition but the original lid is missing and this lid has a repair. It was used to help this great piece display better. Maybe some one out there has a better lid for the great piece. It stands 6 inches tall.

This is tsutsugaki Fireman shirushi hanten coat in Edo period(1603-1867). It is very impressive hanten of the design of the dragon. The material is seems to be hand spun in thick indigo dye cotton. It is very beautiful.It is made of hand-spun and hand-woven and natural indigo dyed cotton. There is a stain. There is no damage. It is very good. size:88cm x 127cm (34.6" x 49,8")

An exceedingly rare ancient Japanese Heian (794-1185) or Nara Period (710-794) Engraved Bronze Tortoise. The entire shell, front and back, has engraved artistic images of the people and symbols of the era. The tortoise is a symbol of wisdom, and is able to defend itself on its own. It personifies Water, Moon, Mother Earth, Time, Immortality, and Fertility. Creation is associated with the tortoise and it is also believed that the tortoise bears the burden of the whole world...

This rare Japanese bronze incense burner is a mid or late Meiji period product. It depicts a crane resting on an upside down lotus leaf. A small snail is sitting on the leaf as well. The hollow body of the crane is used as burner; the wings can be removed to put incense inside. The open beak and small holes under the feathers will let the smoke out. There is a polished bronze inlay crest on the crane’s head and small bronze points on the feathers...
