This saucer dish, raised on a fairly narrow foot displays the “shibui” and “wabicha” aesthetics sought after by Japanese tea practitioners as well as “Mingei” collectors. The brown stoneware body was hastily brushed on the interior and underneath the dish in a rapid manner with no consideration of perfection. This interesting early 19th century Korean hand thrown blue and white vase is 9” high and 5” wide from the widest part. It depicts several plants and has texture style patterns in blue over the pale gray background. It is in excellent condition.

cut and opened high footed stem like a pedestal bowl with natural ash and lead

A Fine Carved Koryo Greenish Celadon Bottle Vase:
Korea, Koryo dynasty, 11th -12th century
This is a baluster shape of body and cup-mouth shape, the sides tapering to
the flat base with no glaze, knife-cut with vertical facets below
interlocking loops encircling the shoulders, around the shoulder carved with lotus
leafy foliage, covered overall in a celadon-green glaze.
It’s in fine condition with some kiln-grit adhering to the base.

Large Korean Blue and White Dragon Porcelain Vase, 19th

It is 19.75 inches (50.2m) tall by 11.5 inches (29.2 cm) wide. It weighs 18.5 lb.
It has been repaired at the rim and surface wears and scratches (as seen in the photos).

Choson period, 1800s
Covered entirely except for the footring in a clear glaze with a bluish tinge. Open to the base to accommodate a stemcup. Very good condition. No cracks or chips. Some sand adheres to the foot and base.

Koryo Dynasty, 1100s
Glazed entirely including the foot and base with a pale greenish-grey glaze, and decorated on two sides with bold stylized calligraphic designs. Good condition except for a small chip to the mouth rim. The foot retains evidence of at least eight spurs on which it was fired and possibly a dusting of wood ash from the firing adding character and a bit of visual texture to the upper body.
