Beautiful Northern Korean bandaji (blanket storage chest) with highly ornate white brass fittings incised with birds and flowers and auspicious symbols. The white brass plated mounts are cladded onto the front of the chest hinged to allow operation of the drop leaf door. Rare/Fine Royal Princess ’s Embroidered Flower Shoes: Korea, late Joseon dynasty This pair is an one of a kind of silk embroidered colorful multi-flower heads (so called (꽃신) and sprays design on the surfaces that is a very unusual and extremely rare shoes from the Joseon dynasty, the pair of shoes were considered the use for a Royal family’s princess at the Royal Palace. Here we present a real fine example of Korean art: smaller rounded wan-shaped bowl with high foot of the bamboo node style - the dark, fine clay with some enclosures is expertly thrown. The chawan was decorated with a white engobe in brushstrokes with a straw brush (hakeme) before the whole bowl was covered with an ash glaze. No chips or cracks. Great antique condition.
