Well cast Japanese Edo period round-form bronze kagami (mirror) decorated in relief with a motif of cranes among pines. The perforated central boss, which is designed to hold a tassel, is in the form of a minogame (tortoise). Two cranes reach toward each other with their beaks to kiss the head of the tortoise. Marked "Tenka" (all under Heaven) at the lower right. This decorative motif has been attributed to the Momoyama period (16th/17th century)...

Four(4) Japanese Imari Porcelain Soba Noodle Cups, Ca. late Edo to early Meiji period, mid 1800's, 2 5/8" high, 4" square-top rim, shaped square top rim with overglaze Comical figures on dark Red divided panels on four(4) sides, underglaze blue flying crane decoration on the bottom enclosed with blue decorative rim on top inside the cup. One(1) cup has one(1) glaze hairline about 1" long, barely visible, and some sand marks while firing in the kiln inside the cups.

This unusual small triangular shaped snuff bottle 2 of the 3 sides of the piece have carefully repouse Tibetan symbols..no makers marks...a few tiny dents ...no loss. It was brought back from Tibet by a man who went on a long walkabout from Istanbul to Tibet back in the late 60's...China was not open at the time...and Tibet ..he traveled with a backpack,limited space,few small momentoes and he was picky...old pieces only... bottle is approx 1.75 inches high

Japanese three string musical instrument Player, Meiji period, late 1800's, 2" high, 2 1/2" wide, ,1 1/2" deep, the ivory figure is finely done, add nice age patina on smooth rounded carving with humorous face and hairdo, small tip of the string instrument is broken off, age crack on the tip of the robe on the left back side about 1/2" long.

A 'bronze' censer (copper zinc alloy with iron impurities) with a six character Ming dynasty Xuande reign mark (1426-1435) to the base but this item was made later, probably during the late Qing dynasty (circa 1890-1910). condition: very good - no damages,losses or repairs. 9cm (3.5 inches)across; 6.3cm (2.5 inches)high. A small Chinese brass handwarmer with pierced lid and carrying handle. The lid has many vent holes, some of which are shaped like stars. and these organize the round holes into what looks like many plum blossoms. The warmer measures 3 1/4' high (5 1/2" high with handle up) x 5" in diameter, and dates to the late 19th Century. There is a Chinese character chiseled on the base which translate to "to set on fire"...

1300s/1400s

Decorated under the glaze with stylized patterns and concentric circles in iron oxide. Skillfully wheel-thrown and rests on a slightly flaring foot. Well-formed lid is surmounted by a circular knop with a yellowish-brown iron glaze. The interior and foot are unglazed. There are minor areas of glaze degradation on the top of the lid from burial. Some minor wear, small old chips to the interior lip of the bowl. Some evidence of burial earth remaining...

Late Meiji to early Taisho (1910s) Japanese silver belt buckle, its front engraved with a galloping horse. Beautiful crisp work capturing the essence of the creature, gilded highlights, marked SILVER 850 on the back. Signed with 2 characters reading SHUNSEI, in superb condition. Size 2 3/6 x 1 9/16 inches
