This stoneware bowl was made at the Sawankhalok kilns around the 14th - 15th century. It is quite "heavily-potted" and coated in a finely-crackled translucent celadon glaze. The inner surface has been decorated with incised parallel bands and vertical lines. The unglazed lower part of the underside has fired to a reddish-brown.

Tall Chinese Song dynasty brown glazed tapering form horizontal ribbed vase. The glaze was poured into the interior while the top shoulder of the jar was left unglazed. 14” high. Circa 13th century. The unglazed base has significant grit adhering from the kiln which causes the vase to be slightly slanted and a bit unstable. There are small chips along the rolled mouth. 19th century staghorn ojime (slide bead for tightening the cord going from netsuke to inro) carved in a shape of standing Okame wearing a long robe and sporting a compass in the front. Lovely ceramic amber and green sancai glaze fish offering from the Ming Dynasty. These were put on small pottery altar tables and interred with ancestor to provide for them in the afterlife. Good condition. This one is quite small D: 3.8cm/1.7in. A clever bunny good glue a pin on the bottom and use it as a brooch.

Ensemble of four Ming sancai glazed chickens used as ancestral offerings. The large green one has had its head broken and glued back on, otherwise all are in good condition. Heights are between 11cm and 6cm.
