This an exquisite Satsuma tea jar from Ryozan. The gold work and painting are examples of his best workmanship. The piece is in excellent condition but the original lid is missing and this lid has a repair. It was used to help this great piece display better. Maybe some one out there has a better lid for the great piece. It stands 6 inches tall.

Small altar comprising of a statue of Green Tara sitting in regal repose on a lion, with a small statue of a worshipper on her lower right side, the whole group surmounting an elevated throne on four legs with, at the back, a large mandorla on the upper side of which stands a small Buddha in relief. Up for sale is an antique Chinese kesi /K'ossu tapestry, 19th or early 20th century, woven with polychrome silk & gold-wrapped threads, the middle square with gold thread ground depcits a battle scene - Worriors on horseback and armed; framed with border embellished with 16 Chinese mythical creatures. The panel is overall in very good condition, it was removed from the frame, one side the color is bright and clean but the opposite side is faded with glues and tears along edges of the border...
