A very nice and fine condition larger bronze dagger, dating to the 2nd. millenium BC.
Attractive greater Mesopotamian type of dagger with a short tang and two rivets in each top side of the triangular blade with a diamond shaped crossection.

Condition: Near Extremely fine for type excellent light green patina and fine metal.

Antique Japanese Seto Ware stoneware ishizara (food plate). Covered with a cream colored slip and painted with a pair of crayfish in gosu blue glaze. Produced in or around the city of Seto in Aichi Prefecture. Seto is considered one of the Six Ancient Kilns of Japan.

Fairly large shrine with three carved figures: Shichimen Daimyojin, Kishimojin and the patriarch of the Nichiren sect, Nichiren. All are positioned on a rectangular base. Although all three can be connected with the Nichiren sect, the formation is a rather unusual one, leading to the assumption that the pieces were carved to the specific order of someone, for a very specific reason. The crest on the outside of the zushi (tachibana branch in well) hints in the same direction...
Large Chinese Warring States Impressed Pottery jar (475 - 221 BC)
This large pottery jar was made during the Warring States period (475 - 221 BC). It is made from a high-fired pale orange-brown pottery, the surface colour of which varies in places. It is of globular form with quite a wide mouth. The whole outer surface has been decorated with repeated impressed geometric patterns comprising vertical and horizontal lines.

Antique Japanese woodblock print of Court Ladies Sewing Western Clothing. This print is originally from a triptych by Yoshu (Hashimoto) Chickanobu, 1838-1912. A lady in waiting to the empress, demonstrates western style techniques for sewing and cutting cloth. The woman wears a fitted French style mantelet. During the Meiji period, noble ladies were encouraged to wear western wear to demonstrate to foreign visitors that Japan was of equal standing with other nations...
