This molded porcelaneous stoneware figure is covered in yellow, green and aubergine enamels with black underglaze feather details. The base is unglazed. It is in good condition with some soiling from age.

Chinese export porcelain model of Zhang Guolao, one of the eight Taoist immortals. He is holding a bamboo drum and riding on a mule. Dating to the late Qianlong period. With later wooden stand. Condition: fine, except the inserted ears of the animal are lost. Dimension: 22.5 cm high x 16.2 cm long (without stand).

A Japanese antique Ikebana Suiban Takekago (basket) made of woven bamboo with its perimeter intertwined with split bamboo. A removable copper insert for the run-off of water. Mixed chestnut color highlights and smoked bamboo. Flat woven bottom with parallel bamboo slats.

The vintage old cloth, which has been repaired and used many times and has faded, is a wonderful work of art in itself and can be enjoyed on both sides. Very rare, Gulong Miao children’s jacket from Guizhou. This is a side opening style, made from all hand woven cloth (except for the inner sleeve lining) with hand embroidered anthropomorphic figures, on a calendared greenish cotton ground. Japanese three-section kimono tansu made from kiri wood, its mid and bottom section has five long drawers with round metal lockplates that slide open to reveal a keyhole, and two warabite handles adorned with flora. The topmost section of the tansu has two smaller drawers with a single handle each, topped with two sliding panel doors, opening to a shelved interior and two more small drawers with adorable twin fish handle pulls. A large and imposing bronze image of the Songzi Niangniang (‘The Lady who Brings Children’), a primary Daoist deity. Fine expression and details. Covered with a dark brown patina all-over. Ming dynasty, most probably Wanli period (1573–1619), a time when it is known that large number of Daoist images were made. ****H 38 cm. ****Condition: Generally very fine. Minor remains of cold gilt and colouring. One tip of a finger broken off.

A small Korean lidded burial jar from the Silla Dynasty, United Period, 8/9th Century. The jar has an overall stamped design, and shows kiln glossing over its otherwise unglazed exterior. The jar with lid measures about 4 1/2" high x 4 1/2" in diameter. The jar and lid are in very good condition, but there are a few very small chips on the lids' rims.
