This is an extraordinarily rare unique turtle shell maskette. It is 2 5/8" X 2 1/2". It was found in Southern Illinois. It dates to the Mississippian Period, 1000AD. It has a hairline reminiscent of the Southeastern Shell Masks. I know of only one other example which is pictured in Lar Hothem's 'Antler, Bone & Shell Artifacts', page 309. This pointed bone splitter tool from the Bill Peterson Collection and ex-Jim Bennett is 5" L, including a 2" glued piece. It was found in Kentucky and shows incredible patina. It has a drilled hole for suspension. It is just a really neat bone tool in unusual form. It has been preserved with an Elmer's glue mix which many old collections used. I will hate to see this one go.

This is a very rare trans Paleo to early Archaic point dating to 10,500-9000 B.P. This is a large size arrow point that has long tip to base convex turning parallel sided blade edges that transition into drooping basal auricles. The basal edge is concave and the haft is ground. Hohokam carved red basalt effigy big horn sheep ca. 650 ad. No Restoration, In as found condition with excellent ground deposits. This incredible Columbia Plateau is 2 1/8" long. It is made from semi-translucent carnelian agate . It was found by Ernie Cowles in the 1930's. This unique 3-pronged bone tool is probably a comb, but could be some type of fish or crawdad spear or even a fork. It was found at a Ft. Ancient site in Washington County, Kentucky on private property. One prong was broken off in antiquity and glued back on. This is the most unusual bone piece I have ever seen. It was obviously carved with stone tools. It is nicely polished with great patination. It dates to the Mississipian Period around 1000AD.
