Rare c.1880-1890 Numerous reproductions exist. This is one of the few real 1900 century mermaids that this gallery has seen. Excellent condition. Some rust as expected. Some paint loss. 9.5" length.

Rare, beaded hide, sinew sewn, miniature Sioux Blanket Strip circa 1880. Decorated with four central medallions with geometric designs. It is attached to a red textile. This may be one of the smallest blaket strips known. The strip measures 30 1/2" Long x 1 1/2" Wide, and the medallions are 2 1/8" in diameter. The red textile measures 43" Tall x 40" Wide.

This beautiful Eden point was found in Oregon. It is made from multi-colored petrified bog wood. It has short flutes on both sides. It has a medium ridge on both faces and a ground base. Parallel flaking. It is 2 3/4" long. There is no damage on this point at all. Very fine flaking and an early point. G-10. Purchased from Richard E. Bachman. A fine and early Canadian East Coast native ash splint market basket made around 1900, possibly a little earlier. This basket stands 10-3/4" high with the handle and it measures 11-3/4" x 10-7/8" across the mouth; it is in excellent original condition with no damage or repairs other than a stained area with some minor losses on the interior bottom of the basket...

This is an extraordinarily rare unique turtle shell maskette. It is 2 5/8" X 2 1/2". It was found in Southern Illinois. It dates to the Mississippian Period, 1000AD. It has a hairline reminiscent of the Southeastern Shell Masks. I know of only one other example which is pictured in Lar Hothem's 'Antler, Bone & Shell Artifacts', page 309. It has beautiful patina and is a no-brainer for authenticity. It is solid and not fragile. Could be used for modern wear...

A medium-sized Hopi Kachina doll hand carved by Wilson Tewaquaptewa circa 1910. With painted details, carved arms, attached protruding ears and tableta. Tewaquaptewa (1871-1960) was the last chief of Old Oraibi. He produced Kachina dolls which are a combination of many dolls and figments of his own imagination. He believed that you didn't carve actual Kachinas for the tourist market. His dolls are usually monochromatic in color (brown, ochre and white and black)...

This Lost Lake is from Todd County, Kentucky and is 3" long by 2" at its widest point. The material is a typical Archaic opaque chert. It has great mineralization and patina. It has a Tom Davis COA rated G-8. I would rate it higher. It is a classic form. Shows much nicer in person.

A substantial carving in emerald of an Indian head Fetish, Native American, probably Zuni, Navaho tribe and 20th. century.

The carving is cut and polished in one emerald stone and depicts the head of a Native tribes leader, carved on both sides of the stone. The stone is transperant light blue-green and very beautiful.

Zuni fetishes are small carvings made from primarily stone but also shell, fossils, and other materials by the Zuni people...

In my 40+ years of collecting, I have seen many bone fish hooks and have owned over 30. This one is the best I have ever seen. It is a G-10+, museum quality. I will put this one up against anyone in existence. This one is so well made that it goes beyond being utilitarian and was probably a family keepsake and worn as an effigy pendant according to Robert Butler who authenticated it.
