Antique, circa 1900 AD, Native American Indians, Eastern Woodlands region, circular trivet made of sweetgrass and birch bark. The top is adorned with a floral pattern made of porcupine quills.

The reverse is inscribed with several names written in pencil and dated "June 25, 1913". Use it as a trivet or hang it as art.

This impressive boxlike purse was hand beaded and constructed as a souvenir by a member of the Iroquois nation at the turn of the century. The beadwork — all of it intact — tells the story: the maker beaded the words and numerals ‘Box,’ ‘Montreal’ and ‘1907’ on the top, front and back. There are sunburst-like designs on each side, and the handle is made of two twisted strands of clear beads; three groups of looped strands dangle from the bottom...

Rare c.1880-1890 Numerous reproductions exist. This is one of the few real 1900 century mermaids that this gallery has seen. Excellent condition. Some rust as expected. Some paint loss. 9.5" length.

Ornate Mexcian Bridle with brass tacks & rivets circa 1890. Decorated, triangular harness leather on the browband, and circular, decorative harness leather attachments. The bridle measures 19 1/4" long x 9 1/2" wide.

10.5" long. One of the teeth is broken, otherwise in excellent condition given its age, great patina.

This 45-70 cartridge case was found with a metal detector by a friend of mine at the "Dull Knife Battle Site" fought in November, 1878 from the "Big Hole in the Wall" area in Wyoming.

Two baskets are being offered here and both are from the Northeast, most probably from the Penobscot of Maine. They are lidded, made of splint ash, and use natural dyes of green and orange.

Basket 1, although it has a square base, is 14 3/4" in diameter and 11 1/2" in height. They are about 3 smallish splint breaks as shown in the photos, but the basket is structurally sturdy. Basket 2 has a medial sweetgrass braid and a dyed interior. The 4 3/4" in diameter and 2 1/2" in height.

These extremely rare beaded chaps are maker marked H H Heiser out of Denver, Colorado. Coming to Colorado during the Gold Rush of 1858-59, German immigrant Herman H. Heiser ultimately became one of the West's best known saddle makers. The chaps are made from brain-tanned deer hide and are beaded in what appears to be a Cheyenne pattern. This is an incredible, extremely rare, plains Indian copper beads and bird claws necklace. It is from the late 1800's. It has 33 rolled copper beads, 40 trade beads and 8 claws. It is about 32". The Guacho of Argentina, the Morochucos of Peru and the Hauso of Chile all preferred large wooden "shoes" for use as stirrups rather than the more prevalent iron stirrup. Here he is depicted gazing upward toward heaven, arms outstretched, wearing his Dominican robe embroidered in gold with a long painted rosary dangling past his waist. His white undergarment is richly painted with flowers and gold leafy tendrils. Carved in full round, his head is set with glass eyes and he retains a good amount of the original paint.
