A massive bronze figurine from the medieval period, Islamic, Seljuq Empire, 10th.-11th. century AD.
The lion stands erect on 4 legs and incised details of the mane and head. A particularly charming specimen with finely made features of the head of the Lion, heavy body and seperate legs. Would have been quite expensive in the medieval period with it's high weight of solid bronze and nice workmanship.

Votive figure of a naked woman, standing with her arms to the thighs. The head shows schematic features and a casket like wig. Schematic rendering of the body, crudely carved in the round.
Enhanced with red and black painted decoration. Red for the necklaze, the upper arm bracelets and the (decorative lines) around the shins. Remains of black on the hair and the pelvic triangle.

A superb gilt and coloured parchment leaf from a religious work, France, c. 1450.
Han-written page with the tiniest details and among the finest we've had ever of the early type from the late medieval period of the 15th. century. The decorations includes lavish use of leaf gold to highlight letters.
