An interesting collection of 22 metal and stone antiquities dating from c. 1st mill BC to Byzantine / Medieval period.

Lot consist of 5 spindlewhorls - 4 with decorations - three in lead and two in ceramic. 15 tokens and weights in bronze and lead and finally two bronze dices.

Sizes up to 23-25 mm.

A lovely patinated amulet in crystalized white stone, probably marble, Egypt, 2nd.-1st. mill. BC.

Provenance: Formerly in the private collection of Eberhard Hanfstaengl (1886-1973). He was a famous German Art director and head of the Berlin National Gallery as well as other higher positions. Educated as Art Historian. Comes with COA.

A scarce to rare hemispheric stamp seal with loop at the back, probably Luristan, pre-historic period, 5th.-4th. millenium BC.

The seal of an excellent style in a greenish-black stone, carved with a star radiating from circular border and a central dot / Leaf-shaped pattern.

Interesting finely polished hardstone stamp seal of an early hemispheric form, late 1st. millenium BC.

The seal particularly finely polished and carved in the base with a bird.

An interesting gable stamp seal with the Zig-zag engraving that has been interpreted by scolars in seals as an early representation of a Scorpio, Anatolia or Syria, c. 4th. millenium BC.

Finely polished and engraved, rectangular with a clear gable form. Drilled.

A scarce thinbutted Danish Neolithic silex axe, mid-late 4th mill. BC.

The axe has a rarely seen feature with a carved ring in the middle of the head. Most thinbladed axes doesn't have this kind of fitting, so this specimen must have been fastened to the shaft in a different way than usual. Maybe used as an adze.

Size is 17 cm - 6,7 inches.

Condition: Choice axe, w. smaller chips. Resharpened in antiquity. Beautiful calky, white patina.

Attractive and wearable today with decorations on the surface.

A nice scaraboid after Egyptian model, Western Mesopotamia, late 2nd. millenium BC.

Carved in a fine purple stone with Deer springing and a fish, crescent above for the Moon god Sin.

Such and early European iron key is not something you will see on the market every day. A complicated slot with a cross and a round bow, typical for the medieval period.

The key can be dated to the 13th.-14th. century, Northern European.

A beautiful and perfectly intact belt buckle completely covered in black patina and in solid silver. Fine ornamentation.

A wonderful symethric style scarab of stylized form, Second Intermediate Period, Hyksos Period, Dynasty 15th -17th. 1786 – 1650 BC.

A choice Ancient Near East / Luristani tanged bronze dagger, dating to the 2nd mill. BC.

The dagger with high shoulders, short tang and the blade with central midrib.

Size: 24,9 cm.

Condition: Choice, a nice dagger with good metal. Some chips to the edge.

Ex. Private collection formed in the 1990's.

This is an Achaean archer's arrowhead that was crafted in bronze using the V-shaped tanged technique. It belongs to the type VIII b category and dates back to the Bronze Age, which lasted from 1500 B.C. until the final phases of the Mycenaean period in 1100 B.C. Ancient Greek archers commonly used this type of arrowhead during the Trojan War.

An interesting and rare stamp seal of a triangular form with a carved base and loop, Mesopotamia, c. 2nd. millenium BC.

The seal is particularly finely engraved with a horned animal and some interesting 'glyphs' in a freese above. With Egyptian inspiration and probably from the Middle Assyrian period, made close to the Egypt border.

Size: 14 x 11 mm.

Condition: Extremely fine.
