Ancient Egyptian artifacts from the Predynastic Period, specifically the Naqada II (Gerzean) era, which dates back to around 3600 - 3150 B.C. Rare alabastron of conical shape and flat base, disk mouth and strap handle.
Decorated with brown and reddish bands around the body. Near the bottom a reserved band with hooks (stylized running dogs). Brown tongues on neck and collar, brown bars on the handle.
Similar to the Egg of Columbus, this type of flat-bottomed alabastron needs no additional support to stand upright.

A rare and quite attractive set of two knives and a sicle type of cutter (3), knapped in finely patinated Silex, Egyptian stoneage / Neolithic period, 5200 - 4000 BC.

These comes from an old French collection and the two knives with tags in white and black ink giving the finding place to 'Fayoum' and 'Le Fayoum' - a region just south of Cairo, close to the Nile.

Rarely seen and a must for collectors of Egypt antiquities.

Size: Each between 9-10 cm. in length.

The medallion decorated with a Siren seen from the front, she appears between volutes and flower tendrils. The nice head with a polos crown, the full bosom and the wings point to a Siren.

A large 4 sided jar in sea-green glass, having a wide ridged strap handle and folded lip. The base is decorated with a segmented circle in the center of which is another circle. Smaller circles are at each corner of the base. This is NOT a reproduction, but an original period piece.

The jar is in excellent condition, with no cracks, chips, or repairs. It is 9 1/2" tall, and 3 1/4" on each side of the square base.

This is an amazing bronze dagger from the ancient middle East - probably Northern Iran. It has a very heavy, wide blade with a prominent midrib. The tang is a typical, square, rat-tail style. The patina is a mix of light green and brown typical to pieces from that region. The piece is solid and stable and is in excellent condition overall. This is a fine ancient Egyptian Scarab, 1200 BC, from the famous Mitry collection (see our Homepage). It is 7/16” long (11 mm) and made of steatite, an easy-to-carve stone that hardens when heated. Scarabs empowered life and resurrection and were often placed under mummy wrappings to protect the body and help it resurrect. This Scarab comes in a jewelry display cup. The bottom is a scarab pushing up the sun, with cobras on either side.
