Islamic Central Asian Ghaznavid dynasty, Bamiyan, splashed glaze sgraffito pottery bowl of deep rounded form with flat rim standing on a short foot. Interior decorated with incised decorations of four lobed petals and vertical lines in beige/white underglaze with green and brown decorative colors in splash design.

A large Susani needlework composed of three length of mustard yellow cotton hand embroidered in polychrome silks. This kind of Susanis where used as bed sheet for the wedding night. The sides of the mehrab with flowering pomegranates ending in a large floral roundel. Trimmed with a woven band. Ikat and red cotton lining with „mir-i-boteh“ pattern.
Condition: faded, especially the interior of the mehrab with splits, some stains, bottom half with partially consumed and worn embroidery...

This embroidery panel was originally the front bodice of a dress...Hand embroidered over several layers of heavy fabric and using mirrors and silver and gold metallic threads...this dress bodice was a show piece probably used only for important occasions i.e. weddings etc. Very ornately embroidered, this panel measures 19 x 22 inches.
