A lovely pair of Chinese sancai scheme enameled parrots perched upon an openwork stump. These birds are variously said to be roof tile ornaments or incense burners, but agree that the former is correct. They are Chinese export wares which were made in the 19th century to early 20th century.

Condition is very good to excellent with some very minor glaze flaking at the base...

Rare soy brown glazed stoneware vessel made in the shape of a grain silo. This basic style are well documented in Qingbai wares but this is the first I have seen in a brown glaze, also it has a fence going around the base which is quite unusual. It is in excellent condition with no repairs, cracks or fritting of the glaze and it is unusually large. H: 24cm/9.5in and D: 18cm/7in. It reminds me a lot of a Jizhou glaze but this seems heavier and more stable.

Special Offer: “Fixer Upper”- Han ceramic well with dragon head roof, and classic lead green glaze and silver patina. This is broken into three pieces and would need to be repaired (I would recommend two part epoxy) please note that in the cover image it is just being held together with gravity. DESCRIPTION: A pair of substantial, deeply carved Chinese doors originating from Zhejiang province and dating from the early 1800’s, Qing dynasty. These handsome, heavy solid elm doors still have all of their original pegs attached, which would have been set into round sockets at the top and bottom, allowing the doors to be opened and closed.

Chinese Green Pottery Ming style garden Column with low relief design of Architectural remnant, from old homes in China, Ca. 19th century, 27 1/2" high, 7 1/2" diameter, with raised low relief design of galloping Horse, big horn Deer, Hawk and long hair Monkey on the tree branches in the deep forest and inside is hollow. The Chinese export wax seal is still intact, and one(1) stained crack about 6" long at just above brown wax seal, and shows brown stain but very tight together.

This ingenious antique Chinese pillow expands and contracts so it can be used as either a double and single pillows. The wooden ends have hand carved floral decoration. The head rest areas are bamboo and the individual rails are wooden. As expected,there are a few nicks to the finish which are consistent with a 100 yrs plus daily use item.

A very unique architectural element showing a warrior on a mythical beast. These were used as adornments to beautify the home as well as to tell a story. This well carved piece of Chinese history dates to the late 19th century and is considered in excellent unrestored condition. The painting of various colors adds luster to this hard to find antique. There is damage to the backside, but does not detract from the overall beauty. It measures 10.5" long, 8" high. just under 4" inches deep.

A wonderful Chinese wood elephant head architectural element. All sides are lacquered except for the back and top which are unfinished. This could be hung on the wall and used as a wall shelf to hold a small treasure. It is made of a heavy wood weighing 2 lbs and measuring 6" high, 4" widest, and 6" front to back. Date: mid 1800s.

19th century Korean plaque of a tiger hand carved and painted with red and gold gilt pigments. Dates Joseon dynasty. Condition is good except some old wood loss to the inner paw area. It measures about 8" x 7 inches.

The wood is approximately 1.3 inches thick and retains much of the original finish though it is obviously worn in some areas. The tradition carvings of 2 dragons chasing the pearl is very well done. Very rare Tang Dynasty (618CE to 907CE) terra cotta wall tile depicting the face of a Zhemushou, a fierce guardian earth spirit meant to ward off evil. It is a trapezoidal shape with much of original red and black pigments intact. Some loss to the lower lip (please see enlargements). Lower W: 19cm/7.8in, upper W: 16cm/6.1in and H: 20cm/9in.
