Rare Chinese form, this Chinese chalice is from the late Qing Dynasty period. The dome shaped lid is topped with a gold finial. The surface of the piece is covered with cloisonne pattern. There is a floral design in black and brown which is offset against a background filled with a fretwork pattern. The chalice with its matching lid stands 9 inches tall.

The metal bottom of the chalice is stamped with the word China. This dates the piece between 1890 and 1914. It was the U.S...

This is a charming old cloisonne teapot from the later part of the Qing Dynasty in China. During this time period the traditions and culture of tea making and drinking had evolved to include the appreciation of tea articles as art objects in addition to their utilitarian purposes. Chinese cloisonné and bronze figure of a standing cockerel. Flourishes of elaborate plumage are decorated with scrolling vines and tiny circles of colorful enamel on a turquoise blue ground. The feet of the rooster are connected to the lid of an oval shaped box which is decorated to match the cloisonné on the body of the rooster.

Age: Circa 1900.

A Chinese Canton enamel dish vividly panted with two cockerels beside flowers issuing from rockwork within a border of plum flowers, cracked ice, ruyi heads and waves, the reverse with three flower sprays. Qianlong, 18th century. 23 cms diam. One small area of restoration to the white on the back of the rim. Otherwise in good condition bar the odd usual stress crack.

An 18th Century sectional sweet meat dish, finely painted with two Chilong (Chi dragons) among stylized scrolling lotus and made in Canton (Guangzhou), southern China, during the reign of the Qianlong emperor (1736-1795).

A Set of Three Small Thai Market Chinese Canton Enamel Cosmetic Boxes 19thC The dark blue enamel with gilt decoration. The interiors with turquoise enamel and the bases with paler blue. Two boxes with composition finials. Chinese 19thC. Diameters: 6.2, 5.3 and 4.1 cm. Condition: some wear to gilding, minor small chips and a flake. The quality of this small elephant is excellent. Standing foursquare with head turned to one side. The body and the separately cast reliquary - monstrance inlaid, brightly enameled, multi coloured and richly ornamented. Nineteenth century or a little bit earlier. L : 14,8 cm. H : 19,4 cm Condition : Excellent with no damage. The reliquary - monstrance incomplete ( please see the last enlargement ).

This Qing Dynasty cloisonne box dates late 19th to pre-1910. Exhibiting a beautiful patina, the box is composed of brass with copper on the exterior. In excellent condition and a real visual pleasure, the box measures 3"x 4”.

A rare pair of Chinese cloisonne enamel 'holy water' bottles, Qianlong/Jiaqing, c. 1800. Height 23 cms. Iron-red decorated porcelain bottles of this shape were made in the Qianlong reign as gifts to Tibetan monks. In cloisonne, however, they are much rarer. The only pair to have come on the market in recent times were sold at Christie's New York, 18.9.2014, for USD 23,750. A single example was sold in Christie's Paris, 8.6.2010, lot 242.
