The nine-dragon design on this charger is after a Xuande prototype, where dishes were painted with a side-facing five-clawed dragon amongst crashing waves in the centre, the cavetto decorated with four dragons hunting the golden ball. Condition: The plate has a restored area and one glaze hairline in the centre (see pictures). Measurement: Diameter 15.5 cm = 6.1 inch

A unusual yellow six sided Nonya plate with a peach and bats for good luck. Nyonya wares are over-glaze polychrome enamelled porcelains made in Jingdezhen in the Kiangsi province of China for the Straits Chinese, or Babas, whose female counterparts are called Nyonyas, hence the term Nyonya ware.
