Pair Chinese Green glazed on pottery Foo dog Joss Stick Holders, Ca. 1920, 5 1/4" high, 1 1/2" wide-bottom, 2 3/4" deep-base, 4 1/4" maximum depth, very nice small size, they usually used in the temples on the Altar. Some of the green glaze pieces are chipped off which is very typical for this type of green glaze on pottery pieces, no major damages. Still retained Export Wax Seal on top of the head.

(Martavan jars were produced in China's southern region and shipped, via the port of Martabanin present day Myanmar, to various neighboring countries as storage containers for various commodities...these storage vessels became prized possessions by the local peoples.) A very rare nicely moulded vase with a long ribbed neck that flares to a hexafoil rim. The hexagonal body is moulded with bands of flowers. The lower band has alternating patterns of lotus flowers and lotus leaves. There are two lion masks at opposite sides at the shoulder. The vase is covered in a light olive-grey glaze. Period: Yuan - 13th/14th Century Size: Height = 14.4 cm (5-11/16 inches) Condition: Tiny barely noticeable chip at the rim of the mouth otherwise perfect.

A very unusual & original Han well with the "jing" design, symbol for well and two intertwined snakes for the handle. There is some iridescence at the bottom of the base of the green glaze from age. Rare Chinese Neolithic Pottery Jar - Caiyuan Culture (c. 2600 - 2200 BC)

This attractively-shaped pottery jar was made some 4,000 years ago by peoples of the Caiyuan Culture (c. 2600 - 2200 BC) and has been excavated from the Ningxia Autonomous Region in the north of China. It is finely-potted with thin walls and the pottery has fired to a nice reddish-orange colour. Tall Chinese Neolithic Qijia Culture Pottery Jar

This tall and attractively-shaped pottery vessel was made around 4,000 years ago by peoples of the Qijia Culture in eastern Gansu province, China dating from approx. 2050 - 1700 BC. It is relatively highly-fired. The lower surface has been decorated with repeated vertical lines whereas the upper surface has been burnished to a smooth finish.
