Small Song Dynasty celadon plate with foliated edge. Olive green color with crackling in the glaze. Some wear to glaze. Diameter: 4.50 inches, Height: 1.25 inches.

The bowl is of greenish-gray glazed standing on a short recessed foot rim. The height is 6.3cm and the diameter is 17.3cm. A minor chip shown on picture 4. Otherwise it is generealy in good condition.

A nice piece of qingpai bowl shard. It has a high foot rim with recess base and a U-shaped body with an everted mouth rim. The body is lightly incised with slanted lines. A character, which is not very clear is painted in the centre of the foot rim.

This is a fine lotus type longquan brush washer from Southern Song Dynasty with the nice crackle. Perfect condition

Quirky Cizhou type, heavy, completely black glazed, waisted beaker from circa Ming Dynasty. Possibly this was used in a Chinese Apothecary, but this is just a best guess to its function. The hole on the bottom was made prior to firing and is part of the original design. Lovely thick glaze and aside from a couple of chips on the outside of the foot, in very good condition. H: 13cm/5.1in- width at base : 8.7cm/3.8in and width at mouthrim : 11cm/4.3in.

Rare image of a Qilin Chinese "unicorn" with stunning deep aquamarine Qingbai glaze. This is a fragment of a much larger piece, possibly a finial off a censer. H: 9.5cm/3.9in, W: 7cm/2.8in x 4.5cm/1.8in. The sculpture is in excellent condition, there is a film of hardpacked soil in the crevices which can be (see enlargements), this can be removed with a small blade with a bit of effort, soaking it in water for a week or so will help. I am leaving it on as it speaks to the age of this piece...

A Chinese, straw glazed, ewer with splashed decoration to one side; Tang dynasty. Though a number of kilns produced similar ewers during the Tang dynasty, the conical spout and discreet pattern of chevrons, beneath the glaze, would point to it being a product of the Shouzhou kilns in Anhui province. 17th century small Chinese white stoneware jar with underglaze blue painting. The jar comes from an old Japanese collection, this type of stoneware is known as Swatow ware, but more correctly named as Zhangzhou ware from Fujian province. Large Han Dynasty (206 BC - 220 AD) stoneware jar with two loop handles incised with a leaf pattern. Above each handle is a rectangular appliqued ogre mask cartouche. Circa 1st century B.C. This is an antique ceramic Ge yao(classical chinese crackle ware ) bracelet found in Borneo, condition not perfect with that obvious one hairline crack (one round) as shown but not broken into half yet, other area intact and fine glaze. it has three spur marks because of the Sung style firing techniques, diameter of the hole is 8.5 cm

Unusual Ming Dynasty stoneware celadon glazed censer on a reddish clay body, possibly Longquan or an allied kiln, uncommon to see fine translucent craquelure. Good condition- no cracks or damage just some bits of kiln grit adhering to the glaze surface. D: 11.5cm/4.5in and H: 5.5cm/2.1in

Set of 4 interesting Chinese Yuan dynasty brown glaze dishes with sea wave decorations and unknown scripts, most likely Phags pa script, an alphabet designed by the Tibetan monk and State Preceptor as a unified script for the written languages within the Yuan. The actual use of this script was limited to about a hundred years during the Mongol-led Yuan dynasty, and it fell out of use with the advent of the Ming dynasty.(Wikipedia)...

Large Song Celadon bowl, olive green in color. In very good condition without chips or cracks. There is an incised flower pattern in the bottom of the bowl. Otherwise, small fritting /granulation is evident in the bottom of the bowl and a couple of these may have been compromised/worn down. Nice overall symmetrical shape and crackle in the glaze is quite faint. Diameter: 7 plus inches and 3 inches in height.

Circa 1860, cylindrical Chinese Yixing red stoneware teapot with dished flat cover and loose iron wire swing handles. Brightly decorated in colored enamels with a phoenix bird amongst lotus and foliage. The teapot has various stamped and incised marks, one on the lid, one on base bottom, and 2 incised marks on the pot exterior just under the handle on the side opposite the spout. This piece, probably made in southern China is glazed on the outside overall except the base and base with a lustrous translucent emerald green glaze. The glaze stops just short of the foot in a thickened curtain effect of gloss and deep green tone. A rare Imperial Yellow Ming Pottery Goutou tile terminal, late 14th or early 15th century, probably South Nanjing, Jiangsu province. The circular roundel is moulded with an Imperial ‘Five Claw Dragon’ in a fine yellow glaze.

A Chinese, bulb-mouthed, brown glazed vase from the Tang dynasty. The coarse stoneware body of this small vase was initially covered by a white slip, which terminated some way above its flat foot. The white slip was then covered by an attractive brown-teadust coloured glaze. Vases of this type have been attributed to the Xing kiln, Hebei, during the early Tang dynasty; see photo. A rare item. Good Cizhou type high fired, well balanced, ovoid soy glazed with russet highlights jar from a northern kiln, circa- Five Dynasties to Northern Song. There is a possible chip on the outer mouthrim (see enlargement)- difficult to tell if this happened after firing or before. There are remnants of kiln supports on the concave foot. H: 9.6cm/3.8in and D: 10.3cm/4in.

This is a large green glazed Ming dynasty funerary figure modelled as a palaquin bearer or attendant. It stand on a step and waisted hexagonal plinth with six feet. The right hand of the palaquin bearer or attendant is resting on his chest with the long sleeve covering the arm, exposing only the hand. The other arm is within the long sleeve. The slash at the waist is unglazed, exposing a slightly redish clay.

There are some abrasion and minor chip which can be expected from funerary ...

A Chinese doctor would use this stoneware clay pillow to support the wrist while taking the pulse of a patient.

The pillow was made using slab construction and all the surfaces are decorated with a star pattern and covered with a traditional glaze. There is a tiny vent hole on the bottom to facilitate firing. It measures 4.5x3 x 1.5 inches and is covered with traditional green glaze. The age estimate on this is very conservative...this is a rare artifact and possibly much older than liste...
