Framed Chinese 18th century imperial blue ground gold dragon kesi fragment. This twisted gold dragon is surrounded by five color lingzhi shaped clouds. Up for sale is a very large antique chinese red silk tapestry brocaded with polychrome peonies & vines, and gold thread shadows, Qianlong period. The panel is made up of 2 pieces from a yardage, each about 27" wide, and that explains why there is a seam in the middle; the panel backed with light yellow silk. These stand for the five blessings : old age, wealth, health, goodness and natural death. This work of the Imperial Qianlong workshops is most probably a part of an Imperial Qianlong throne cushion cover, later bordered with modern high-quality adornments.
