This is a very beautiful and finely potted Qing dynasty famille noir mille fleurs (Thousand Flowers) plate. It is painted very densely with shades of enameled pink, yellow, blue, brown, white and green with multitude of flowers and plants. It includes peonies, lotus, hydrangea, chrysanthemum, narcissus, daisies, lily, hibiscus, iris and several other flowers covering the entire plate in black background, with the foliage and gold tendrils binding all the flowers together...

This antique cinnabar lidded jar vase form is surrounded with deeply carved garden landscape scenes with several men and woman including and older man and small child. The carved details of people, plants and house facades are all clear with no loses.

This cinnabar jar is in very good condition. It stands 6.5 inches and 6 inches wide. The word China is handwritten on the bottom, which indicates that the piece was made between 1890 and 1914.

This Chinese Door of Hope doll, along with several others, was brought back to the US during the 1920's by the American Baptist Missionary, Rebecca Cloud-Stewart. On one of her many trips back to the US to visit family and friends, she brought the collection of dolls as samples to sell and raise money for the Door of Hope orphanage. After many years in China, Miss Stewart returned permenently to her home in Georgia...

Chinese antique sewing table, black lacquer with beautiful and ornate gold lacquer designs depicting scenes of palace life, interior has many little places for organizing sewing materials all lacquered in black and gold with bone details, a pull out lacquer and silk area underneath for storing embroidery supplies, claw feet, with key, 18th/19th century. This charming adult female Door of Hope doll is 11 inches tall. Her face is somewhat darkened with age and the lower fronts of her trouser legs are faded from sunlight. She has all of her original clothing layers. Her top tunic is a bit dirty in the front and has a small tear at the rear of the right sleeve. Yet, even with these "condition problems" she retains the quiet beauty which has made the door of hope dolls such a collectors treasure.

Yuan qingbai ewer with two lugs on the neck, covered by buish glazed, reddish unglazed base. Size : 11.5 cm height, 12.5 cm diameter Condition : very good, very tiny frit on the spout, no hairlines, cracks or restoration.

A Song dynasty qingbai white bluish glazed conical bowl, rounded side with conical shape and unglazed base. Bowl is in perfect condition, no chip, no crack, no restoration. Nice bell like tone when tapped Size: 19 cm diameter and 6 cm height.

A late Song - Early Yuan Qingbai bowl, covered with nice bluish tone glaze, silky with fine glaze, rim and foot ring unglazed. Very thin and light potted and nice bell like tone when tapped. Very good condition with firing crack and fint glaze hairline on the back. Size: 11 cm diameter and 3 cm height

This is a fabulous bronze axe from ancient China. Socketed axes of thus type were typical to the Northern tribes in Shang and Early Zhou periods (circa 1100 BC). This particular type is quite rare and rarely seen in private collections.

From our Early Chinese Collection, a large and magnificent Southern Song Dynasty qingbai funerary urn (960 - 1279 AD). Based upon published and nearly identical examples dated to 1209 AD, we can probably safely date this piece closer to circa 1190 - 1230 AD...

A beautiful famille rose dish with the emblems of the eight immortals or baxian. They represent poverty, wealth, aristocracy, plebianism, age, youth, masculinity and feminity. At 12 o'clock, the two emblems represent Li Tiequai (gourd)and Han Xiangzhi (flute). At three o'clock the emblems represent Lan Caihe (basket of flowers)and He Xiangu (lotus). At 6 o'clock, it represent Zhang Guolao (bamboo tube) and Cao Guojiu (castanets)...
