A miniature vessel in the shape of a Japanese water bucket. Earthenware finely decorated in enamels and gold with a flowering tree. Base signed below the Kinkozan Kyoto paper label next to an old price label. Condition: fine. Dimension: 6.4 cm high, weight: 28 g.

A very nice Japanese, Meiji Period (1868-1911) drum form Satsuma lidded box with two faux molded handles to the sides. The exterior and interior of box and lid each are decorated with scenes. Signed on bottom, it measures 5.5 inches diameter, 3" high.

This is a beautiful Japanese satsuma bowl from satsuma master Yabu Meizan. The minute detail and workmanship are spectacular. The Detail in hand is finer and more impressive than what is shown in these blown up images. It displays very well but unfortunately the bowl was broken and repaired. The price for this bowl is a fraction of the price an unresstored Yabu bowl would bring...

Small kogo, incense box, in the shape of a crab in rest. Grayish brown grainy earthenware, much like Raku, with red glaze and with patches of green and white glaze. The eyes are accentuated with gold, as is a small area on it’s back.

Pair of fine satzuma earthenware vases. The cream colored clay is covered with finely crackled glaze. A golden decoration representing pagodas in a mountainous landscape is placed on a matte black background. Some details are sprinkled to imitate morning mists. These are original vases inspired by Komai style vases in gold damask steel. Probably made in Kyoto during the Meiji or Taisho period. Good condition. Height: 125mm.

Antique Japanese very large ceramic jar with a highly textured form, wide mouth, large dripping area of natural ash glazes in blues and browns with bare tapered foot. Tokoname kilm dates from the Momoyama period 17th century. Size: 24" H x 18" W

A terracotta figure of the Three Wise Monkeys - Mizaru who is covering his eyes, Kikazaru who is covering his ears and Iwazaru who is covering his mouth. All three embody the proverb "see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil". The figure is combed terracotta with blue, black and brown paint. This is a wonderful little censer from one of the great Meiji era satsuma artists. This beautiful piece glows with quality and is like looking at a fine jewel. Signed Shizan on the underside and the remains of an import sticker can still be seen. Condition is excellent. It measures 3 tall and is 3 1/4 wide.

Beautiful and unusual Jomon Era vessel from the Shiizuka Kaizuka archaelogical site in present day Ibaraki prefecture. The Jomon Period (14,000 B.C.~ 300 B.C.) is considered to be the most intriguing period in Japanese Art history. The odd geometric and abstract shapes in vessels or figurine forms are often found various archaeological sites throughout Japan. Age: Jomon Era Size: height 9.75" diameter 7.25"

Fine Japanese lobed Satsuma lidded koro by Kozan; shows three rotund cartouches of individuals in rural and domestic scenes, also showing birds amongst flowers; the lid is expertly decorated with florals surrounded by minute diaper-work; signed in gold, Kozan

19th century Japanese Satsuma belt buckle decorated with birds among blooming chrysanthemums and a raised bamboo garden aqueduct with water running along it. Excellent quality painting, numerous colors and gold enamels, in excellent condition. Metal backs are stamped with a single character GIN (silver). Size assembled 3.05 x 2.22 inches.

This is really an exquisite piece of Japanese Satsuma. It is signed by Seikozan who was one of the finest satsuma artists. The pot is not overly large being 6 inches tall and 6 1/2 across including the spout/handle. The Condition is fabulous. This is a great piece of Satsuma especially at this price.

An antique Satsuma figural group of a prone bull with a guardian. The bull with crackled cream ground, gilt noseguard and retaining rope and with polychrome painted and gilt backcover. The young man in a gilt and multicolor painted traditional Japanese garment resting on the animal while holding a book in his hand. 11.5" long, 6" high. An exceptional piece.
