Old (1920's) Japanese Lacquer Inro with Boxwood Toad Netsuke by Masanao III Miyake Kisaburo
It is 2.8 inches (7.2 cm) tall and 2.2 inches (5.5cm) wide. The netsuke is 1.2 inches (3 cm) by 0.97 inch (2.5 cm) wide. It is 42.9 gram.
It is in good condition with no repairs except chips, peeling of lacquer and surface scratches (as seen in the photos).

This is natural indigo dyeing Shirusi-Hanten made at the beginning of the Meiji period. This gets texture and others by cotton and silk. As for this, cotton and silk are spun by hand. It is rare that Shirusi-Hanten is woven by cotton and silk. Most are only cotton. This has fading with several places of a few holes, but the state is good. This was sewed for a child again. 19th century/Meiji period Japanese pottery kogo (box for incense during tea ceremony) in a form of a seated rooster. Wonderful potting with great facial expression and well delineated feathers, beautiful crackled glaze, red and black enamels. Bottom shows the seal of the potter. Wonderful piece in Japanese taste. Length 2 5/16 inches. Part of a small East Coast kogo collection.
Late Meiji Japanese good size ceramic suiteki (water dropper for diluting ink used in painting and calligraphy) that can also serve as a brushrest, modeled as a large and a small pine cones growing together. Clever design, holes on top of cones for filling and dispensing water, very nice depiction of cone texture, brown glaze with gold enamel over it, in excellent condition. Marked with potter’s stamp on the bottom, appears to read SHUNZAN, but I am not entirely sure...

An elegantly hand-crafted cloisonne obidome of a double-gourd form. The burgundy-colored glass enamelling of the gourd is thickly applied and translucent. The cobalt blue "rope" around gourd has pure gold highlights. Can be used as a pendant.

Antique Japanese large indigo Tsutsugaki yogi robe made out of a futon cover, with a paste-resist Kikumon, or Chrysanthemum crest on its back, also called the Imperial Seal of Japan. Tsutsugaki is a technique in which bindings are applied to the cotton threads in any desired pattern and dye is applied over them. The bindings resist the dye, leaving behind patterns in the original color of the threads. The edges of fabric are sewn together using white sashiko stichwork...
