This is an ANTIQUE SATSUMA SMALL VASE from an Eastern Shore of Maryland Estate. The size is 5 3/4" Tall X 2 1/2" at the Widest point. Three Shishi lions or “Foo dogs”, the guardian animals that used to be placed outside temples and imperial buildings. Two of the three originally formed the knobs of urn lids, the third and smallest is a lid from a miniature incense vessel or urn. Two with aubergine and green/turquoise glaze, the third in crackle-glaze gilt. Height of biggest Foo dog "2¾/ 7 cm, of smallest "1/ 2,5 cm. Condition: the angry, middle-sized dog has got his right back leg restored.

Exceptionally well made, excellent lacquering, wonderful work in Japanese taste, some wear and insect damage as can be seen on photos. Length 3.43 inches.

Pair small Japanese blue and white porcelain dishes. Hawthorne style decoration of prunus branches in bloom. Verso with three prunus branches. Blue underglaze mark centered within the foot rim. Fair to decent condition with a few frit like flea bites to the glaze along the rims. No cracks and no hairlines. Diameter each about 7 1/8 inches (18.1 cm)

Vintage Japanese bracelet consisting of 14 rudraksha prayer beads (dried stones / seeds of Elaeocarpus tree which grows in Himalayas and South East Asia) used for meditation by Buddhists and Hindus. The beads are old, their beautiful deep patina testifying to long use. Must have been restrung recently with a stretchy cord allowing for a very convenient way to meditate by putting the bracelet onto 4 fingers and using thumb for moving them and counting...

A small Japanese mimikuchi shaped vase, with spiral design, used to hold the burn incense sticks. The burner is about 3 7/8" tall x 4" in diameter and dates to the turn of the Century. The condition is excellent/perfect, and it has been polished. The asking price includes shipping within the USA.
