A definitely lvely pot with an extraordinary rich floral decoration with birds. The glaze and the deep cobalt blue blue strongly reminds on Chinese Jingdezhen ware pieces of the Ming Dynasty.
Annamese ware ( Vietnam ) 15th - 16th century .
Diameter : 7,4 cm.
Condition : Perfect ( the glaze a little bit eroded, some fine glaze cracks, but no cracks in the body of the piece. )
A silver mounted 16th century Annamese vase with definitely the strongest and deepest cobalt blue ever reported on Annamese ware worldwide. Take me at my word that neither in any museum collection nor in any private collection can be found any Annamese piece with a better cobalt blue than the blue of this vase. The cobalt blue of this vase is even better than the very prominent " Mohammedan Blue " or " Ahmadan Blue " of the Yuan Dynasty.
Also the glaze of the vase is excellent.
