An antique 19th Century solid wooden offering tray from Northern Thailand with cinnabar lacquer finish. Medium Size: H. 4.75" x 10" diameter (12 cm. x 27 cm.). Good overall condition, no restorations. Difficult to come by!

Antique Thai gilt cast bronze figure of a recumbent temple deer. These sika deer are closely associated with the Buddha because of his "Teaching in the Deer Park" in Sarnath. Buddha's teaching, or "Spinning the Wheel of the Law" further links the deer to this sacred event. Thus deer are often depicted with the Wheel of the Law, or Dharmachakra in a temple setting. With one leg bent under his body and one outstretched, the deer turns a long, graceful neck to look back over it's shoulder...

Very fine gilt wooden Burmese Nat with elaborate dress, inlaid with many sparkling mirror pieces. The figure is in a protective position with hands guarding off evil spirits. The Nat's name is "Amay Yay Yin", meaning "Mother Yay Yin" and she conquered the river. Thus, people who travel by water, revere her to protect them from danger. A nice Thai antique hand made genuine round Silver Box (acid tested) with extensive fine scrolling work, 19th Century. Size: height 4 cm. x 7 cm. diameter. Weight: 39 gr.

This Burmese antique offering plate was the result of work by dedicated and skillful craftsman. Beautifully woven of bamboo strips, the finished shape would be first painted with repeated layers of black lacquer followed by layers of red lacquer... obvious wear to red paint from repeated handeling through the decades of worshipers allows the under black lacquer to show through in varous areas... measures roughly 5 inches high (12.5 cm) by 10 inches wide (24.9 cm)

A set of rare and complete Burmese manuscript (KAMMAVACA) made from thick cloth coated with gold and lacquer in nice condition. It was written in the Pali language using Burmese script. The square letters were written in thick and black cinnabar lacquer. This set has 16 leaves and 2 wooden covers made from teak wood. Each leave was inscribed on both sides with illustrations of deity figures from Hindu-Buddhist mythology on some leaves...
