Wood Sumikiri-bon with red urushi. Summikiri means a tray in the shape which four corners are cut. Four sides have painted in Negoro style which has partly black urushi. Used and some scratches and chips. Late 19th to early 20th century. 36.5cm x 36.5cm x 3.5cm

Cotton han-juban (short under kimono) with katazome (stencil resist dye), whose motif is a kind of "Seigaiha", the traditional wave pattern. It is hand spun cotton and vegetable indigo dye. The collar cloth is also hand-spun cotton dyed with sumi (ink). n good condition but has some parts fade in color. The second half of the 19th century. W:114cm, L:62cm

Excellently potted japanese porcelain dishes, decorated in underglaze Cobalt blue with a nice landscape scenery. Nabeshima - style, Meiji Period 1868 - 1912 ) Diameter : 20,8 cm. Condition : No crack, but each of the dishes has a small chip which is old repaired in Kintsugi technique ( Japanese Gold Lacquer repair.) Provenance : Old German collection. ( All in all we do have 4 pieces of the same kind of dishes on offer ( 2 pairs )).

An unusual very heavy and coarsely potted Imari shallow dish of gong shape form decorated with a central motif of a Kirin within an arabesque of foliage surrounded by a diaper band. The rim decorated with roundels, marumon, and wreath shaped medallions in underglaze blue with enamel details. An oak leaf shaped moulded dish of six-sun size in “Ko Sometsuke” style decorated in underglaze blue with three seated figures sitting around a low table with a typical Chinese style landscape of mountainous islets in a costal setting with a Ting, small pavilion in the foreground. Distressed Japanese Iki mask with crystal eyes. Gofun finish over dry lacquer composition. Details including veins, wrinkles and furrows. The surface is in a distressed state with significant losses and some 'alligatored' texture possibly from exposure to elements. Would make a worthy conservation project for someone with the patience to recoat and touch up losses (the missing left ear being most challenging.) Length, about 9 1/4 inches (23.49 cm)
