Rather unusual late 18th to early 19th century Japanese bronze temple decoration fixture of a tennin - a female buddhist angel - as it flies playing a Shu - Japanese musical instrument from a flute group used in Shinto ceremony and consisting of bamboo reeds forming a circular wind chamber. Wonderful design, beautiful flow of her billowing scarves, gilded highlights, great patina. Very well cast, pleasantly heavy, peg on the back for fixing it to a temple or pedestal wall. Length 6 inches.

Chinese Western to Eastern Jin dynasty (ca. 4th century) Yue ware dish-mouth vase (pan kou hu) with wide shoulders tapering to a flat, slightly concave unglazed base. Two double-strand lug handles are at the top of the shoulder connecting to the bottom of the short neck. It is covered in a thin, light buff-celadon colored glaze that extends down toward the unglazed base. The glaze becomes more buff-tan in coloration in a patch on one shoulder and in some areas of the neck and mouth. 11" high...

Japanese Satsuma Earthenware Vase, Ca. 1920, early Taisho period, "Hotoda" signed, 6 1/2" high, 4 3/4" wide include handles, fine detailed decoration of Dragon and Rankans between nice fine gold background. The condition is good.

Japanese Satsuma Earthenware Koro, Incense Burner, on Tripod feet and two(2) Elephant Handles, signed "Senzan", Ca. Meiji period 1910, 5" high include Foo Dog top, 6 1/4" wide include 2 handles, ladies and Gentlemen in Japanese traditional clothes within several circles between multiple bands of flowers, Gold Foo Lion knob and 3 heart shape openings on top. The condition is good except tiny frit inside the rim on the bottom piece.

19th century netsuke of a dog sitting on a woven mat with its front paw on a reticulated ball with a loose ball inside it. Excellent carving with great face and superb depiction of hair and woven mat textures. Beautiful wear and patina. Signed ICHIRA (alternative readings are Itsura or Kazura) in oval reserve on the bottom. Height 1 1/2 inches.

19th century netsuke of a rooster on a drum. The subject symbolizes peace: according to a Chinese story, a drum was kept at the palace gate to alert soldiers in case of emergency, but during the reign of Emperor Yao the peace was maintained for so long, that the drum fell into disuse and became the favorite roost for local fowl. Excellent quality carving - see the rich depiction of differentiated feathers of its body and tail, eyes are inlaid with black horn...

A rare Pyu carved green glass pendant with a figure of a man on the front and some writing on the back. Next to the glass pendant there are two small stone carved elephants. The rest of the necklace is made up of ancient gold and an assortment of gold and agate beads of the same period. Age: 100 - 500 AD. Size: 44cm end to end. Glass bead: H; 4.5cm W: 2cm.

A large thumb ring decorated in openwork with Chinese auspicious characters, originally worked in two parts. The inner ring with Chinese maker's mark. Condition: please look at the photos carefully. Dimension: diamater: c. 3.3 cm, 2.8 cm high, weight: 32 g.

A Tibetan bronze flaying knife or chopper with a curved steel blade used in rituals by Buddhist Vajrayana priests. The flayer was a symbolic instrument and never used to really chop or flay people. Hence, the blade is dull. The blade has oxidized on both sides and there is some verdigris inside the top of the handle. Measures 6.75 inches x 7" high. Dates 1800's.

A Chinese porcelain house in crouching position, decorated with yellow and brown glaze, Qing Dynasty. Condition: the right ear has been restored, no other flaw beside this. Length: 7-1/2".

Very good overall condition with cold painted facial features and much original pigment remaining. Typical losses. The figure can stand upright on the flat base without a support.
