An antique bronze rain drum with natural patina from the F Knoll Collection. Country of origination is Laos. Top features a bas relief in the concentric circles with families of stacking frogs on each of four positions. Elephant figurals shown marching up to each handle. The center displays a 12 pointed sun.

Small "ghau", the front side, made of bronze, is decorated with a foliage and lotus design, the box itself ans its lid being made of copper with bronze handles. The "ghau" contains a tiny bronze statue of Bodhisattava Manjusri and textile. Fine age patina. A leather cord allows attachement of the "ghau" to a belt. Tibet, 19th century. Very good condition.

Chinese antique bronze tripod censer with lid, footed with modeled elephant heads, trunks as feet, pair of elephant head side handles with uplifted trunks, lid with recumbent elephant with garnitures pedestal bowl for handle. Nice dark bronze patina, Fret design on rim, scrolling lotus design on body and reticulated lid.

This is truly a museum worthy piece from the great satsuma artist, Seikozan. It is probably our all time favorite example from this artist. This vase is literally smothered with intricate enamel and gold work. The vase stands 9 1/2 inches tall. This vase appears to be nearly perfect but it has had an amazing and nearly invisible rim chip repair.

This is a very rare Cloisonne piece from Kinuken or S Inaba. Kinukenwas one of the Meiji masters. We've never seen another. It was acquired from one of the best cloisonne collections in the world. It is probably a late Meiji, early Showa era piece. The plague has two sides and a footed gilt frame. Some of the gilt is worn, otherwise it is in perfect condition. Stamped S. Inaba on the frame. It stands 7 5/8 inches and is 7 5/8 inches wide...

Important mask of Mahakala, with a fierce expression, his forehead surmounted by a sort of diadem sustaining a range of tiny skulls . Finely embossed iron, with detailed features, and polychrome pigments to enhance some of the mask parts (eyes, teeth, skulls). A thin textile of red colour is affixed to the inside of the mask, probably to protect the dancer's face. Tibet, early 19th century.Height: 24 cm. The mask is nicely mounted on a custom stand. Very good condition.

Antique Thai Iron Standing Buddha, early Ayutthaya period 14th century, heavy oxidation but still delightful. The right hand is raised from the elbow in Abhaya with the hand in Gyan mudra, the left is holding possible a sacred medicine ball. The figure is on tiered square stand, and stands in a thin delicate pose.

A rare antique Japanese Niigata Kiri Children's Kasane Tansu (stacking chest on chest) made entirely of Kirinoki (Paulownia) wood. It features a stylized Chrysanthemum design on each plate which represents the Mon or family crest of the original owner and Gumbai handles. The iron fittings were all hand made and the chest was constructed using straight dovetail joinery and hardened wooden nails.

These children's chests are not often seen in Japan...

An antique Japanese bronze okimono statue of a Japanese Ama or pearl diver walking to her boat in the wind. The artist conveyed the wind intensity by the way that her headscarf has unraveled as she keeps it atop her head. Her feet nearly reach the water embankment as she readies herself for the work ahead. The artist, Kyoi Masatsune - 京井政常,signed his name with a hallmark near her feet.

Age: Meiji period (1868-1912).
