Very Rare Chinese Eastern Han Dynasty Stone Toad Money Tree Base (AD 25 - 220)

This extremely rare toad-shaped pedestal, or base, for the legendary coin-shedding tree dates to the Eastern Han Dynasty (AD 25 - 220) and has been excavated from Sichuan province. This is a fantastic pottery tile from the Han Dynasty (206 BC - 220 AD) with a heavy relief of a musician. This tile is in excellent condition and shows no signs of repair or restoration. It measures roughly 24 cm square and is roughly 4 cm thick. It weighs an impressive 7 pounds. This is a spectacular specimen of ancient Asian artwork suitable for any museum or high end private collection.

Minute restoration on the nose's tip, otherwise is in good condition.

A fine antique silver mounted snuff bottle carved in smoky agate in a large and impressive size, Qing Dynasty.

The bottle carved with floral decoration and with a thick silver mounting also finely chiselled with floral motifs. The corresponding spoon in coral-coloured glass. High purity silver with silver marks.

Superb early Peking glass snuff bottle, Chinese dating to 1760-1780.

Bubble-suffused glass bottle of compressed globular form with translucent red overlay. The lip is flat, and the base has a thick oval foot ring that has been carved to reveal the slightly convex shape of the body. Old gilt stopper with no pin inside.

Size: 74 mm. tall.

Condition: Superb!. The bottle completely intact and perfect; the red glass & metal stopper with some light wear.

A lovely and rare pottery bowl or bassin depicting domesticated cheetahs or leopards, Indus Valley, probably Nal culture, 3rd. millenium BC.

The vessel finely decorated overall with three felines with spotted furs, and chained to small symbolic trees. Larger trees as spacers and a band of Ibexes above. Concenthric decoration near the wide rim, all in brown on a beige ground.

Architectorial carving of a temple alter, Northern India / Gandhara, early-mid 1st. millenium AD.

A very artful carving and quite decorative as well, depicting a building housing an alter and flanked by large collumns. The back uncarved and it would have been carved into a rock wall.

A very beautiful schist head of a Bodhisattva, 2-4 Century AD, with soft, youthful features, wearing a diadem with rosettes. The hair is pulled up into an elaborate top knot, urna between the eyebrows. Acquired on the London (UK) Art Market prior to 1980. Mounted on a Museum Quality metal stand. Very handsome and attractive small head of Buddha, GANDHARA, 2-3rd Century, Grey Schist. The youthful face is well defined with handsome features following a classical Hellenistic-Greek style. The crescent shaped hair is toped by a raised ushnisha and a small urna is between the delicately arched eyebrows. The ear has a large pierced lobe. A massive corner stone sculpture carved in greyish schist, Gandhara, c. 400-600 AD.

Interesting Pilaster from a corner with two reliefs, on it, candelabra with Buddha and bodhisattva and lying bulls on both sides at the top.

Size: c. 51 cm. tall and c. 22-23 cm. wide. Verry deep as well and almost triangular in shape.

Condition: F-VF, basically intact and almost fully covered with sandy encrustations - uncleaned. Chips and corrosion on exposed areas.
