The silver part is in the form of two "kapala shaped" parts, separated by a central silver belt, decorated with several turquoise and coral inserts, to which the handle is attached. This silver part is lavishly decorated with an embossed relief design representing foliage and Buddhist symbols. The leather part is painted in green. A very fine Nanking export blue and white porcelain tea cup and perfectly matching saucer depicting lovely Chinese landscape with a pavillion, mountains, trees, birds and 3 people. Circa 1800. Condition: tea bowl excellent, the saucer has 2 miniscule, inconsequential rim chips.
A four-case lacquer inro in iroe, togidashi, hirame and kirigane lacquer, on a nashiji lacquer background, decorated with a boat, sailing on the flow, carrying numerous passengers, there are some mountains in the background.

A nice assortment of glass beads made into a necklace. The beads date primarily from early Tang to Ming Dynasties. There are also some earlier beads mixed in. Size: Total length 70cm. or 27 inches.
This set of 4 matching Chinese toggles were hand carved from animal bone, probably the vertebra. Each side is carved with an identical design which continues around the side. They are well aged and show both wear and usage. As artifacts from the folk art culture, they were probably carved by the person who intended to use them to secure his personal items. Each piece is approx 1 inch in diameter and .5 inches thick.
